Hi All- We'll be able to pick our fastpasses in a couple of weeks so I'm trying to get prepared!
I will be going to EPCOT with my 2.5 year old who is under 40 inches and my mother who gets motion sickness...so, needless to say, we are limited in what rides we will be doing.
Do I HAVE to chose a tier one FP? If we just choose the 2 tier two's (likely Turtle Talk & Nemo) and use those up in the AM, will we be allowed to add another FP (ie, character spot)..or does that just apply if you've chosen and used all 3 FP's?
I was thinking about a tier one for FEA, but honestly, none of use are interested enough in it to deal with the wait/crowds and likely backtracking that it would involve...
Any thoughts/advice appreciated!

I'm honestly not sure if you need to book a tier 1 once you've used your other 2, but if you do, you could always do a "throwaway" one for the first hour of the day. Then it'll just be over and you could try for more after you used your 2 tier 2s.

Chances are you don't need them for turtle talk or nemo. If you want to book the character spot, I'd choose that over either of the others. We waited the longest there on our last trip. Nemo has never not been a walk on, even in late June, midday. Same with just walking into the next turtle talk show.

Ok-This is very helpful- thank you! I wasn't sure if we could "no-show" for a fast pass and not be penalized...Just to be clear-I could sign up for a fast pass, and once the time expires, whether I actually use it or not, I can try for more as long as the other 2 are used?

You can also book 3 Tier 2 rides in Epcot. So, no need to allow 1 to expire.

Spaceship Earth gets a long line and may be ok even with motion sickness...they may be a good FP choice

In our experience the last 2 years (October trips), you definitely do not need FP for finding nemo or turtle talk.

If this is the case- problem solved! However, everything I can find online says this is not the case...Have you tried this yourself?
Yes. As soon as it was reported, I tested it and sent the info to mesaboy2.

ok- thank you!!
Here it is from mesa's thread:
In Epcot and Hollywood Studios only, FP attractions are divided into two groups, also known as tiers. Guests are able to make up to one selection from Group 1, and up to two selections from Group 2. Alternatively, guests can also make all three selections from Group 2 if desired.
