Hi all, I'm new to this forum.

I'm going to DWD in a few weeks, our first trip ever to WDW and I'm super excited!!
So far we decided on 3 days in MK, 1 day in AK, 1 day in DHS and 2 days in Epcot.
However, I have serious doubt about the Epcot park, do you think little kids will enjoy it?

My kids are 4 and 8, one is totally into princesses and the other likes animals and toy story. I know they will enjoy the rides at MK.
Not sure about AK but decided to give it a day anyway.
I'm thinking of cutting down Epcot park to just one day (because we have a princess dinner reservation at Askershus) and just spend 4 days in MK.
What do you think?
Or make it 2 days at DHS.

For me and husband, we just want the kids to enjoy this trip, so we have no preference. I found myself planning this trip even though it was initially my husband's idea. I've been reading and studying WDW, lol..

:welcome:

My kids have absolutely LOVED Epcot for years. Their first trip they were 2 and 4, and EPCOT was their second favorite park. We plan to spend 3 days there this year. They are currently 8 and 10. There are a TON of meet and greets, including several princesses throughout the World Showcase. Is your second Epcot day after the meal reservation day? If so, I would see how much you accomplish that day and leave your options open. There is so much to do there for kids. We just love it. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

My princess dinner at askershus is on our last night.
So right now it looks like:

MK
MK
AK
Epcot or MK or DHS?
DHS
MK
Epcot

Is it enough to explore DHS in one day? I'm most interested to see the Mickey Mouse clubhouse activities, live Belle performance and the Toy Story.

Yes, DHS can be done in one day as long as you get there early (they will open the park anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes prior to the posted opening time). If you are staying onsite, I would do DHS the day they have evening Extra Magic Hours. They have a fantastic Disney Junior dance party that only takes place during the PM EMH. It is a great event. I think your schedule looks great. I would see how much you get done at MK those first two days and see if you think you will need a 4th day. If you don't think you will, I would stick with Epcot for that day.

Thank you! Might need to do a bit reshuffling for the DHS EMH. But I'll see what I can do!

On our last trip in November 2012, surprisingly, Epcot was the favorite park of our dd and ds, 3 and 6 respectively at the time. My daughter loved Soarin (she called it the flying seats) and my son Spaceship Earth. Don't skip Epcot you maybe surprised.

Yes! I can't stress enough how amazing Epcot is, especially for small children! It was my favourite park when I was little, and it still is! I was three on my first trip and loved Epcot, and when I went when I was five, I remember skipping a day at Magic Kingdom to go to Epcot instead!

You can do the Agent P adventure for them in the World Showcase, and Future World is a lot of fun, they have lots of fun fountains to play in and Innoventions can be interesting.

Epcot is 100% worth a visit with little kids! :goodvibes My DD is 4 and Epcot has taken her #1 park spot for our last 3 vacations. On the surface it appears that there isn't a lot to hold their interest, but once inside the gates a whole new world of learning, exploration and fun is open to them.

Don't miss it! Epcot is great. Our last visit my boys were 2 and 5 and we spent quite some time there. Lots of great activities in innovations, and in the hall by Figment with all the virtual music stuff. They enjoyed doing the crafts at the countries and my eldest remembers some of the smaller shows (the British army guys and Italian juggler in particular). We plan to spend 2 full days there this trip - there is just SO much to see/ do. My eldest(now 9) has specifically requested several Epcot rides/experiences, so it's a muist do in my book!

I was hesitant too when planning last year. My DS and DD were 3 and 4 and I didn't think there would be much for them to do. I was wrong to be worried. Nemo alone was worth the trip. :) Have a great time!

Ok you guys convinced me, lol..
I switched my dining reservations.
Now it looks like this:
MK
MK
DHS (EMH until 11)
Epcot
AK
MK
Epcot

:)

Do you have hoppers? They are so worth the money to us as we can choose to spend all day or just art off a day at any parl. Epcot was my oldest favorite park when he was little, and the little guy loves it too!!! They do however enjoy it more in smaller doses. A morning at MK and then the afternoon evening at Epcot. SOOOO much to do.

My kids loved Epcot when they were little. ( they are now 14, 18 and 20 :) ).

Even if lots of folks don't like it, little kids will probably like Imagination with Figment ( my youngest still has fond memories and Figment is a favorite character of his ). There's the Seas with Nemo and Friends, Spaceship Earth and even in the World Showcase, they get a free mask that they can color and decorate in each country. Definitely lots of fun for everyone.

DD(7) has loved EPCOT since she was 2. We did one day that trip and it wasn't enough. Since then we have done 2 full days at EPCOT every trip. I think your plan is good. If they like Phineas and Ferb, you can practically spend a whole day doing Agent P missions around World Showcase- I think DH likes that as much as DD! If you are looking for another TS at EPCOT, DD ranks Biergarten right up there with Princess meals, as one of her favorite places to eat in all of Disney. She loves the Band and dance floor. I think your plan looks good! Have a great trip!

Yes, little kids love Epcot. I do caution about what ride you take them on first, though. I did Spaceship Earth with my then 3 year old first, and she was like, "What fresh hell is this?" Scary looking animatronic people in the dark. It almost ruined the entire park day for her. She relaxed with Figment, though, and Turtle Talk.

Now, the only two parks we really go to are Epcot and MK. To us, AK and DHS are only good for a half-day jaunt.

Another vote for Epcot! If DS4 had to chose between MK and Epcot, I'm pretty sure he'd chose Epcot (although Buzz Lightyear would make it a tough decision)

Also, I suspect you'll find AK a hit with the kids as well! Be sure to get there when it first opens so you can see and do everything in the one day you have. One day at DHS is plenty.

So glad I saw this - we are headed to Disney in October with our 4 year old and had pretty much written EPCOT off since I was afraid she would not have enough to keep her entertained - might give it a try after reading these glowing reviews.
