I will be at Disney Oct 1-8 and I wanted some info about the Food & WIne Festival. Will there be extra food vendors out in the park or something? I have a reservation for a lunch character meal at the Garden Grille and I was thinking I might cancel it and we could just kind of eat our way around the park. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, I wouldn't plan on a sit-down lunch. Just eat your way around the booths! It's a great way to try new foods. They are small, appetizer size, and around $2-$4 each. They are all outside all across the World Showcase. Each booth has a menu with around 4 items on it. The smells are wonderful. :)

I guess it depends on how many days you will be at EPCOT. I always enjoy the Garden Grille, but you will probably want to "Eat Around the World" at least once, but probably twice. If you're having lunch at Garden Grille, where are you going for dinner?

I don't drink wine so I can't say anything about that, but I do know a lot of wine drinkers get really excited about this Festival. Occasionally I try some of the beer, and that can be interesting. We don't do any of the extra cost seminars.

"Eat to the Beat" schedule while you are there:

Oct 1-3 Family Stone (hmmm, what can I say that is "kind"...)
Oct 4-7 Mickey Thomas & Starship (Always a good show)
Oct 8-11 Loverboy (Pure ENERGY Rock n'Roll-GREAT Sets!)

If I had to make one suggestion- Try everything, even stuff that doesn't sound like something you want. At least get a taste from someone in your party.

This is probably our favorite event at WDW and we count down the days every summer. Honest...

I'm not sure what we are doing for dinner. I'm torn between planning all the meals or just winging it. We are going to Epcot on our first day-Monday. I was also thinking we could eat breakfast a chef mickeys and then just grab whatever we wanted at the booths for the rest of the day, but then I made ressies at the Garden Grille for lunch...We have the option of park hopping, so maybe we could come back on another day for a character meal....heheh... I'm starting to annoy myself

Why am I suddenly tempted to rearrange my entire itinerary so I can eat lunch at epcot every day?

I love a good food festival.

This will be my 4th F&W Fest. I plan to eat at least one meal a day at the Festival during our stays so I have a hope of sampling everything once. I never plan a sit-down meal in Epcot during the Festival. If I'm there, I'd rather be noshing my way around the World.

Since we never travel during the "busy" season, we tend to wing it when it comes to eating. It just works better for us. I would hate to be on a schedule that ended up not working out. But that's just me. Our last trip we did make 2 dinner reservations - 1 for the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg at Hollywood & Vine and the other for a special "last night of the trip" meal at O'Hanas. Other than that, we stop and eat when we're hungry at whatever place looks good and has room for us. We've never had a problem in 5 trips.

Enjoy the F&W Festival!! It'll be at least another year before we're back "home" again!

I'm a big eat as you go (no room for a sit down dinner)....Also if those two - four dollar prices start adding up ...its always good to hit one of the free cooking demo's (you have to get in early) but the food is excellent....
