EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

Interesting that in general they won't give the kid's wine to the parent. Last year we went to the Andrew Zimmern demo and there was a family of 4, 2 parents, 2 kids, and they definitely let the parents have 2 wines each and the kids none. They offered the kids soda in place of the wine, but the parents declined the soda in favor of wine. If they kids wanted soda, however, the parents would not have been given the extra wine. This could have been an exception, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

You know I was thinking about the wine seminars. The woman who historically runs that believes that allowing you to drink the wine you paid for is bad. She yelled at me for drinking my partners wine since he can't drink red. ( the wine distributor shut her down and gave a lot of us extra wine. I thought she was going to have a heart attack. She ran to get a manager who further infuriated her by assisting the distributor LOL)

Is that the pest who always wears black plants and smock top and brown semi curly hair if so she is a pest

Spent the last 4 days at the f&w festival. Humidity was crazy high and it was hot. There were some pretty significant downpours too but had a great time. It was very crowded on Saturday but still stopped at a few booths. Max McCalman cheese and beer seminar was fun even at 10 am. Sunday we did the Boot Camp withe Andrea Robinson. Despite starting 15 minutes late and having to wait in the heat it was well worth it. The wines were terrific, as was the food. After the seminar we left with 2 full size 20th anniversary wine glasses each - just like the AP glasses but bigger. We're headed home with 4 red wine glasses and 2 port wine glasses. The AP souvenir glass line was short on Saturday at 10:30, crazy long on Sunday at 11 and short at 11 on Monday. Great food and wine festival this year!

So my F&W day is super far away but I'm trying to see what's the best use of my Sampler package...

Here's the 8 I picked:
Guava Margarita(Mexico)
Ritzee Lychee (China)
Kung Fu Punch (China)
Szarlotka (Poland)
Frozen Margarita (Italy)
Godiva Coffee (Belgium)
La Passion (France)
Citrus Thistle (Scotland)

Anyone see any problems, or ones that are actually excluded? I tried to follow the exclusions listed and avoid flights, champagnes and beers.

Thanks!
Today we used 4 of the Sampler package entitlements. In France we had the Pomegranite Kir and Martini Slush (this was amazing), in Italy we had the Margarita with Lemincello (big yum), and we must have used the 4th one on the Apple wine in Ireland. Every drink was very good! The Italian Margarita was very refreshing as it was crazy humid today. We pick up our second Sampler package card tomorrow even though we only ised half of them today. Good to know about the wine at Bloch and Hans, we have a full day at Epcot tomorrow!

Edited to add, we tried to get the frozen Pure Cane Sugar drink in Dominican Republic today at around 3pm and they were OUT!

A quick review of the Parisian Breakfast. We went on Saturday. It was our first time doing the breakfast so I don't have anything to compare it to. We thought it was nice but I am not sure we would do again. The food was croissants, pain au chocolate, croque monsieur, a tart with goat cheese, baguettes with butter and jam, some type of almond pastry, a fruit and nut pastry, a few cheeses and salamis. There were unlimited mimosas. There wasn't any drinking chocolate like in prior years. The food was all good but nothing was amazing. The restaurant was very loud and it was hard to hear each other speak. We left about 30 minutes early as did a lot of other people. We did get a little goody bag when leaving with a little jar of jam and a reusable bag from the jam company.

Same experience here, my parents and I enjoyed the breakfast. We all wished there was also some fresh fruit. I thought the croque Monsieur, almond pastry, plain croissants and milder cheeses were fantastic. Coffee and mimosas were good. We had great seats in the side room with the glass wall overlooking the pavilion. I'm very glad we did it, and our wonderful server even gave us a box to take with us more pastries. I don't know if I would do it again, depends on how many days I'll have at F&WF.

I guess it depends on the CM, or maybe it's a change in policy. A few years ago, when we had a child at our table, the CM gave the Dad 2 glasses of wine, both for him and the child. Then Dad poured the child (about 8 yo) some water. Unfortunately, no soda was offered.

When I purchased mine, the CM definitely wanted me to know I had to pick up the package on the DAY OF, not before or after. Earliest pickup was at 9 AM. That's what she said...! :chat:
Yes same here but rules have changed . At time of purchase I was told all entitlements have to be used same day and that is no longer true

While I didn't pick up a package I did see someone getting one while I was looking at the artwork in the Festival Center. It seemed to be day specific but maybe they could look you up (They had a list of people who were getting it on Sunday when I was there. Now, I don't know if they could access the Monday list on Sunday or not....)

Is the Chase lounge offering Illuminations viewing bands this year? If so, do we know if it's during the week as well?

Excuse my ignorance but is the Chase lounge for anyone with a Chase card or does it have to specifically be a Disney Chase card?

I wanted to book the Festival Sampler Package with my disney gift card but was told that's not possible? Was anyone else able to book the Festival Sampler (8 entitlements, pin, reserved concert seating) with a disney gift card?
Edit: Yes you CAN book the Festival Sampler with a gift card. I just called to try again and had no issues this time!

A few pages back someone posted the card the sampler entitlements come on and it clearly states on the card they are valid from the date issued and expire on November 16th I am on my phone so I can't go back and find the post

I doubt you will be able to pick it up early since there are no dates on the tabs you hand over just on the card they come on.
Thanks! I looked for the pic of,the sampler card but could not find pleas post if you have one.
