EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

For a lot of cast members annual pass-holders and DVC members represent problem guests. This group seems to Believe that they are entitled to being treated differently and often are demanding an abusive to be cast members.
I didn't know that, sorry to hear that.

and also on the cookbook topic, is that something that runs out by the end of the festival? or will it be available online?
I saw it on the Shop Disney Parks app today.

This is interesting, is there a $ limit on the total or per item? Is it a good deal in general? Thanks

I don't think it seems like a good deal in general. Assuming they will let you do the "meal swap" at all the booths you want to try this plan, you'd be able to exchange your $42 qs dining plan for two three-snack "meals" per day plus the extra snack, for a total of seven snacks a day. That's $6 per snack and few f&w items meet that price point (steak, lamb, lobster items if I recall). I just can't imagine eating enough of those items to make it worth the hassle and expense, but perhaps if you were on a short stay or had gotten free dining entitlements you wouldn't want to use elsewhere, that might be a good option!

I see your point, not worth it, especially since you lose some flexibility. Thanks

Hey folks. I wanted to give a quick review of my F&W experience. The soft opening was awesome early and then it got crowded later in the evening. Friday was a crowded mess. I knew it was gonna be packed when the lines in the Festival Center were crazy. There were lines waiting to get into the Chase lounge! I got the Discovery sampler package and I highly recommend it. It's even better because you have until 11/16 to use the entitlements. I went to the Burger Block party on 9/25. I had no expectations and I left with mixed feelings. The beef sliders that were served weren't seasoned and no condiments to be found. I guess they felt that the toppings were enough. The booze was abundant and no complaints there. Andrew Zimmern came on stage and yakked for a bit and left. He never even went to his table. I never saw him again. To sum it all up, I've never seen such huge crowds on opening day and I've been going for years. I'll be going back next weekend and then for the Wine&Dine half Marathon. Hope i was able to help.

So now that we can use the entitlements on more than one day can we pick it up earlier in our trip or does it still have to be picked up on the day purchased for?

I made a copy (9 pages) of the list of menus at all the booths and highlighted the itens we are interested in. That way we won't miss something that we wanted to try.

Anybody know if the Haggis is the real deal? Don't know I'll like it but I'm game to try it, the boyfriend not so much.

He was hoping they would have Hovels beer again but unfortunately they aren't.[/QUOT This year's haggis is the real deal sort of..from what I hear it's made in the US and it's a reasonable version

Good to know since I have several of the $9 wines from there on my list to try. Maybe I'll get a Sampler & try to use it there before some of the others in case they rescind the ability to use there. I don't arrive until November so hopefully we will see more reports of the places we thought excluded actually accepting the entitlements. I also am interested in possibly using it at Coolpost, Refreshmentport & a couple of the Joffrey's Coffee Carts. So if you try & have success at any of those I'd like to know.

I tried at Coolpost and was told it's not valid there.

Thank you for letting us know as I want to try those wines. Which wine was it and did you like it

I tried the Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon. It was very tasty! A great option!

A quick review of the Parisian Breakfast. We went on Saturday. It was our first time doing the breakfast so I don't have anything to compare it to. We thought it was nice but I am not sure we would do again. The food was croissants, pain au chocolate, croque monsieur, a tart with goat cheese, baguettes with butter and jam, some type of almond pastry, a fruit and nut pastry, a few cheeses and salamis. There were unlimited mimosas. There wasn't any drinking chocolate like in prior years. The food was all good but nothing was amazing. The restaurant was very loud and it was hard to hear each other speak. We left about 30 minutes early as did a lot of other people. We did get a little goody bag when leaving with a little jar of jam and a reusable bag from the jam company.

I was there too. We were a party of 14. I thought it was really fun. Our waiter was fun. It wasn't the most amazing party ever, but for the price, I thought it was a great way to start the Festival! I loved the pastry. We were able to order hot chocolate from the waiter (as well as espresso and cappuccino, and presumably other drinks.)

Here's this year's kiosk souvenir wine glass. (I have the same glass from last year with last year's logo.) It's available at Block & Hans, New Zealand, South Africa (and some other kiosks I don't remember!) It's $4.00 and you don't have to buy it with a beverage. I love using mine to bring to the pool.

Me thinks I need one of these! (If there are any left by the time I get there!)

For those that have done the Parisian breakfast, did you have to check in at the festival center first or did you go straight to the restaurant? Can you enter through the International Gateway or do you enter through the main entrance? Thanks!

Go directly to the restaurant. You can enter at the IG. You will be held at the bridge towards France until just before 9 AM

I would like to hear experiences using sampler credits past booked date. Also before you could only pick up on that day. Anybody able to pick up on an earlier day?

Would also love to hear about French Family Traditions.

Right. You are MUCH better off just taking the money you'd spend on the dining plan and putting it on a gift card.

I'm wondering about having the sampler tabs and using the Premium package where they'll bring the food to you. I'd think it would work fine but one never knows at Disney.

I am glad you had fun! I did order hot chocolate from our server which was fine but was not drinking chocolate in any way. Our waiter was ok but very rushed and asked if we needed anything else while running by instead of stopping. It wasn't a big deal but it probably did change our experience a little bit.

From information others have posted it appears using sampler credits past booked date will be simple as the tab you hand over in exchange for your 'purchase' has an expiry date rather than showing the date it was purchased for. The cast members will have no idea what day your package was originally booked for.

A few pages back someone posted the card the sampler entitlements come on and it clearly states on the card they are valid from the date issued and expire on November 16th I am on my phone so I can't go back and find the post

I doubt you will be able to pick it up early since there are no dates on the tabs you hand over just on the card they come on.

As long as it was marked snack item it was fine. It really depends on booth Chew had items about 5 and above each so grabbing 3 for me and my mom to share was worth it to use our credits. The cheese studio though was 6.50, 2.50 and 3.50 I didn't find that work using it because the majority of items were under 5 dolars. It really all depends on what plan ifits worth it i guess, we never use all our qs or snacks, we are usuing the plan fo rtable service, so its a great way for us to get our moneys worth. People who always come close or run out its probably notas good a deal.

I also had a question if anyone has run across it those AP wine glasses are they only in innoventions? Was thinking of using the boat to get to back of park from Studios but if port of entry has no glasses its not worthit.

Yup, the AP wine glasses are only available at innoventions.
