EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

Just wanted to report that I was able to use a Sampler Package entitlement for a 9.00 glass of wine at Block & Hans. one of the CMs was unaware of what it was but followed the instructions on the back. The other CM was the one who confirmed that I could use it there.
Good to know since I have several of the $9 wines from there on my list to try. Maybe I'll get a Sampler & try to use it there before some of the others in case they rescind the ability to use there. I don't arrive until November so hopefully we will see more reports of the places we thought excluded actually accepting the entitlements. I also am interested in possibly using it at Coolpost, Refreshmentport & a couple of the Joffrey's Coffee Carts. So if you try & have success at any of those I'd like to know.

Just got back from food and wine weekend and had a great time!!

Got 12 stamps in my passport. Tried a lot of great food, wine, and beer.

The winner for me was Mexico!

Had the shrimp taco, corn cheesecake, and sangria. Thoroughly enjoyed all of it!!! Soo good.

My one disappointment (and maybe because I expected too much) was the lobster roll. Don't get me wrong the lobster flavor was great and the roll was nice, soft, and warm. However the onion was a bit overpowering. I like onion but nothing like having a delicious hunk of lobster in your mouth only to have a frickin strong onion come in and destroy that perfect flavor. Ymmv!

Wish I could have tried the Canada steak but the line was insane! Booo. It was on the must try list. Maybe next year...

Wish my stomach could have handled more but we were just there 1 day.

I thought the merchandise was super cute!

If you are a pin collector don't miss out on the Remy hide and seek! For 7.95 you get a page you load with stickers. (You don't have to even complete it to get the prize). When you're done take it to port of entry to get your Remy pin! Omg they are adorable! Also if you are a Remy fan you're aware the pin selection is non existent. There's 6 pins to choose from. You get one for each sheet you buy so you can get all 6!

Thank you for letting us know as I want to try those wines. Which wine was it and did you like it

Thank you! I know I have to narrow down more suggestions, because I put so much on my list of things I want to try!

I made a copy (9 pages) of the list of menus at all the booths and highlighted the itens we are interested in. That way we won't miss something that we wanted to try.

Anybody know if the Haggis is the real deal? Don't know I'll like it but I'm game to try it, the boyfriend not so much.

He was hoping they would have Hovels beer again but unfortunately they aren't.

i just was able to use qs for 3 items at chew lab booth she said to not ask to exchange but simply to use 1 qs for 3 items

:D I'm so excited to hear that this is working, at least at Chew. Has anyone else tried it at any other booths?

Whether I'm able to attend or not, I've purchased the Epcot Food and Wine Festival Cookbook just about every year. This year, I'm not able to go and from the Cookbook title it seems there's going to be a lot of repeat recipes - from the last 20 years! Reprinting the same recipes was fairly normal procedures most years but there was always a few new recipes to make it worth the price. IF someone could take a picture of the index and post it - it would be much appreciated. I'd love to know what's in the book before I order it online.

Thanks so much!

and also on the cookbook topic, is that something that runs out by the end of the festival? or will it be available online? i won't be there until 11/12 and would really like one- i'm not really interested in any of the other merchandise that's sure to run out by the end, but would be pretty sad if i missed out on the cookbook.

I buy it through Disney merchandise by phone if I'm not there. Sometimes you have to wait a few weeks after the start of the Festival to order it.

Weird question that may off been asked-

If I buy the limited gift card (the one you put $200 on), Does the whole $200 need to be used at the festival or can it be used other places in the parks?

It is a regular Disney gift card you can use it anywhere

A quick review of the Parisian Breakfast. We went on Saturday. It was our first time doing the breakfast so I don't have anything to compare it to. We thought it was nice but I am not sure we would do again. The food was croissants, pain au chocolate, croque monsieur, a tart with goat cheese, baguettes with butter and jam, some type of almond pastry, a fruit and nut pastry, a few cheeses and salamis. There were unlimited mimosas. There wasn't any drinking chocolate like in prior years. The food was all good but nothing was amazing. The restaurant was very loud and it was hard to hear each other speak. We left about 30 minutes early as did a lot of other people. We did get a little goody bag when leaving with a little jar of jam and a reusable bag from the jam company.

i used it at multipl booths the omly caveat is those 3 items can be only things in thst transaction

Iiiinteresting. Were there any booths that you could not do this at? Did you just tell them you want to use a QS credit for 3 items?

No booth's i went to couldnt do it, one was confused and since i was ordering more then 3 items I decided not to just to help them. I would make my order for 3 items then when i paid with my band i'd ask them to use a qs meal for the 3 items. the bottom of your reciept will show that one has been removed like any place. The only time they had an issue was when i bought 3 items and a drink, they were unable to do it withthose 4 items in the transcation. They had to remove the drink do the one transaction of 3 snacks as quickserve meal and then do the drink as a seperate purchase (the drink was a non snack drink). The place I didn't want to confuse i was getting 4 food items and a alcoholic drink. They couldn;t figure out how to do snack ddp at all so i didnt want to take chances. I will warn though check prices. Someplaces have snacks for 2.50 it be a waste of a qs on things so cheap.

Awesome, thanks for the report. Now back to the drawing board, may be thinking about adding the plan after all. We would only use QS at booths that had the more expensive items, snack credits at booths that had less than 3 things we want but still expensive, and gift cards for the cheap stuff.

So my F&W day is super far away but I'm trying to see what's the best use of my Sampler package...

Here's the 8 I picked:
Guava Margarita(Mexico)
Ritzee Lychee (China)
Kung Fu Punch (China)
Szarlotka (Poland)
Frozen Margarita (Italy)
Godiva Coffee (Belgium)
La Passion (France)
Citrus Thistle (Scotland)

Anyone see any problems, or ones that are actually excluded? I tried to follow the exclusions listed and avoid flights, champagnes and beers.

Thanks!

I did the same and did the math. I chose:
Caipirinha (Brazil - $10)
Smoking Hibiscus (Chew Lab - $8.75)
Ritzy Lychee (China - $10.50)
Pina colada (Dominican Republic - $11)
Frozen Sugar Cane cocktail (Dominican Republic - $9)
La Passion slush (France - $9.95)
Frozen Apple Pie (Poland - $9)
Citrus Thistle (Scotland - $9)

If my math and prices are right and everything is included, I'm getting a total of $77.20 out of pocket versus $62.85 for the sampler. That's a pretty decent savings especially with the pin thrown in as a "bonus" (I don't really collect pins so I'll probably end up letting my sister trade it).

Trying to decide if it's worth it to buy another sampler or if it will be more trouble than it's worth to get my family not to go "off spreadsheet" with the entitlement tabs...

Luckily these don't all have to be redeemed within a single day, otherwise the only problem I see is being able to stand or see straight.

At least I'm sharing these with my boyfriend, who can hold liquor much better than I can!
