EPCOT Evening EMH Crowd Level for IllumiNations

Any reason to avoid World Showcase and IllumiNations on an EMH night?

We have the option this October to see Epcot on Wed. Or Thu. If Thursday stands as the EMH night, I'm concerned that EMH would draw a lot more people to Illuminations. Or, perhaps having Future World open would be a good thing?

We were there on Thursday May 12th and didn't have a problem getting an Illuminations spot back by Morocco about 5 minutes before. We planned to exit through the International Gateway, so it was close.

We were there May 12 and it was ok for watching illuminations, we watched from Canada. Trying to do the emh was insane. The wait for every ride was over 30min and Soarin was 70min. We had much better luck during the daywith fast passes. We never did EMH again after that disaster.

We just got back and did Illuminations on May 19th. I agree that the EMH was insane, didn't even bother trying to stay for it. If I had to do over again would of even picked another night to do Illuminations, but because of earlier made PS we were there that night. Pretty much had to pick a spot about an hour before hand.

Was it insane the entire evening or just during EMH?

I think that it was fine up until just before Illuminations, but the closer that we got to Illuminations the more crowded it seemed, which meant that afterwards they all headed to the relatively few things that were running during EMH. Because of our experience with the same thing at MGM earlier in the week, we deliberately choose not to stay, since it was obvious with the number of people there that the rides would be mobbed once Illuminations was over.
