Epcot entry through International Gateway?

So I'm working on my Touring Plans, and it asks me which entrance I'm going to use. Our plan is to rope drop FEA. Should we enter via the gateway? Also, we're going to have a rental car to park; where will we be parking for Epcot, and will that necessitate going through the main entrance.

If you are parking, you will use the main entrance.

PP has answered about the parking. And given the location of FEA there's no advantage to using the IG even if that was a reasonable option.

Park entry at IG for FEA does not offer any advantage and may be a disadvantage for Soarin' and TT. Now when the new Ratatouille ride opens up in the Paris pavilion in 2-3 years - that's another story.

If you are parking then the main entrance is your only option as that is where the parking is located.. The International Gateway entrance is only accessible either via the Epcot Area Resorts (BWI/BC/YC/Swan/Dolphin) or via boat from DHS..

No because you enter the IG then have to walk down and come up past Mexico.

It's not drastically further, but it is a further walk vs the front entrance

Even if it is a bit closer to the actual IG, all guests still have to GET to the IG from wherever
they are arriving (usually an Epcot resort.)

I rope dropped FEA from IG last May and don’t think that IG is an advantage. I am a fast walker and experienced rope dropper. As I walked toward FEA, I saw a steady stream of people pouring in from the direction of the main entrance. I think I ended up with around a 30 minute wait.

Also, there is the situation that most days there will be an interior "holding area" for
early guests that is located inside Future World.
Guests arrive from the front gates and are corralled in that area until
rope drop time, then released to head to attractions.
If that holding area is at/near the Fountain of Nations, guests being released from
that rope drop will be closer to Norway than guests entering via the IG.
So, TIMING of when guests are allowed to head to Norway can be a major factor in this.
