Epcot entrance/walking from beach club?

8:55 am...walking to MK and taking bus to beach club sounds like the easiest option so far if buses run that early?

Plan on starting out from Contemporary by 7:30 a.m. The bus will drop off at Swan/Dolphin, Yacht Club then Beach Club. With all the other suggested options, you wold still need to begin your trek by 7:30. If 7:30 seems too early, you can plan on taking a cab a little later.

I've stumbled from The Dolphin to the World Showcase a number of times, so you should be fine from Beach Club.

Depending on what time your eating you have a few options A) Cab, B) if buses or monorails are running and if Epcot is open you can go to Epcot walk thru exit INternational Gatteway and walk to Beach Club. C) you can take a bus to Hollywood studios and walk or take the boat back to Beach Club

Generally, walking takes about the same amount of time as the boat - about 20 minutes.

You can also mention to the bus driver that you're heading to the Beach Club - he may be able to take you there after dropping the rest of the passengers off at DHS.

The dock for the launch is probably half the distance, but it can be a long wait in the hot sun for the next boat to show up.

And the boat will go to Boardwalk before it proceeds to Epcot. If you are looking for the fastest way from BC to Epcot, walking is it.

You can get there that way, but plan on it taking quite a while because you're going upstream; Buses will be going from the resorts to the parks - not the other way around. You can get a bus to a resort, but you might have to ask someone to send one for you.

Taking the bus to DHS is the easiest option.

Thank you! That would have been my next question! :)

Thanks! There are so many different options and for a newbie its kind of confusing b/c I have no idea what to expect! We will try that and leave by 7:30 at the latest:)

If you take the bus to DHS, you can get away with leaving at 7:45. The bus driver will almost certainly take you to the Beach Club after dropping off at DHS. It's much easier and faster than going to MK and taking a bus from there (unless it's after 10:00am.)

Also, I would highly recommend visiting the transportation board. The WDW transportation system is complex, and that's where you'll find the best advice.

I'm out of shape and 54 years old.

I could RUN from the Beach Club to Epcot. (OK, maybe not on an August afternoon.) And the odds are good that I could do it without medical intervention.

It's close-- really, close.

And it's a left turn from the BC lobby to Epcot along the water.

:lmao::rotfl:

Yea I think in this case grab a cab at 8:15 or 8:30, its not that expensive I don't think and you save an hour, unless you look at the journey as part of the fun.

A cab would be about $20.

Some people might not like it, but the OLP Transportation Wizard is pretty accurate IMO... I use it to check and see where I can squeeze in an extra boat ride during our trip without sacrificing much time...

Except when it gives you routes that don't actually exist - there are a few of those. I don't recommend it for people who are not very familiar with WDW transportation.

Thanks for sharing this info! I didn't know the drivers could/would do that.

One year at POR, friends and I along with luggage and two cases of water were directed to a bus by a POR CM and he assured us the driver would drop us at the Bus Stop near the Mansions. When we got to the bus and nicely asked if he could drop us at the stop, he said "no," and that he had already looped around. And, he was just sitting there with a totally empty bus! Sad :(!

That's a totally different situation. Resort loops can't really be altered. Also, Luggage is never permitted on WDW buses.

I knew about the luggage but it was the concierge and a valet who directed us to the bus. One time we walked from AS Movies to the farthest AS and happened to ask the bus driver if he was headed to Movies; even though he wasn't, he told us to get in and dropped us at Movies!

A lot of times they absolutely cannot go in a different direction because of the turning radius of the bus. There are certain places where a right turn just isn't possible turn can only be made from the opposite side of the street.

And, sadly, you cannot trust non-transportation CMs to answer transportation questions accurately.

Thanks! POR was the only time I didn't have a rental car and only because my friends didn't want to pay...they were the ones who had to carry the water!:)

I don't even think it's 5 minutes from BC to the International Gateway. It is SO close.

A cab would be about $20.

Sounds about right, for us not being morning people $20 for an extra hour of sleep for the whole group is beyond well worth it. I'm sure others are up and at it so why waste it.
