How does the eve EMH work at Epcot? Do the attractions noted stay open for three hours past the Future Word closing time or World Showcase closing time??

I was just there at the evening EMH for Epcot on 3/3. It was open until midnight.

Were Future World and World Showcase open until 12:00? Or did they each close 3 hours past the normal closing time? Thanks!

When we were there most of World Showcase closed after Illuminations (except Mexico and Norway). Future World stayed open 3 hrs later (until midnight).

Is there very many people going to these? I think it sounds fun but I can't imagine Disney keeping it like this for long. It sounds like it might cost them to much money.

The first hour or so it seemed like a lot of people stayed, but then it really slowed down (especially at MK because it was so late). We walked right on Splash Mtn and Thunder Mtn RR. Everyone else was in line at Space Mountain.

Everything that I have read indicates it's been very successful.

Disney has had the early morning hours for years. Now they've simply replaced some of the early mornings with late nights. The only difference is that the nighttime EMH lasts 3 hours instead of just 1. But, I'm inclined to think that it costs less to keep a park open late than to open early. In the early morning hours, even though not all of the rides are open, you need to have a lot of the support staff at full strength (security, bag checks, ticketing, CMs at the gates, transportation, etc.) At night, they can gradually scale down much of that staff as the EMH progresses due to the constantly declining crowds.

Just a guess, though. :confused3

I'm sure that in the end it is costing more to keep the parks open later, but some of that cost is certainly offset by additional guest spending. Other expenses are just part of doing business.

Although the official closing time of Epcot will be midnight (3 hours past the 9 pm closing of WS), there will ONLY be certain attractions open during the EMHs:

El Rio del Tiempo
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
Journey Into Imagination With Figment
Maelstrom
Mission: SPACE®
Spaceship Earth
Test Track
Universe of Energy

As far as the World Showcase, note that only 2 rides/pavilions are open: Mexico and Norway. Some previous posters have mentioned that the CM's will rope off the WS at Norway, not allowing anyone to stroll through the World.

So, you get to ride all of the above rides until midnight....! :Pinkbounc

That is true. I hadn't thought of that.
I have done a few early mornings but the 3 hours at night sounds great, particularly because there is usually not enough time in the parks the enjoy the ambiance after the sun goes down. Hopefully this will still be in effect in December for my next trip.
