Epcot during the Food Festival

So far, my biggest strategy problem has been Epcot. I am arriving in Orlando on November 13 at 11 AM. We are taking the Magical Express to OKW. Since it is the last day of the Food Festival, I'd really like to get over there. However, I would like to try and spend only one day at Epcot! Is this wishful thinking? Do you think that we could get over to Epcot and enjoy the rest of the day (it is open until 9 PM) including the food festival and maybe one meal (preferably lunch) at a World Showcase restaurant???

Advice please!

Well, They say to allow at least 2 hrs for ME. I think that includes waiting to check in at the airport, loading, and getting to your resort. That said you will be at OKW around 1. If you drop and go you could be at Epcot by 1:30~2ish. That is a lot to cram in for just 7 hrs of touring. You may have to skip some of Future World (you would need to Fast Pass Soarin as soon as you enter the park!) But you can get around the booths at WS with that amount of time. You may also be hard pressed to get into any of the special free events. Folks start to line up for those events 1-2hrs prior and if this is your only day in Epcot you may not want to waste your time in lines. Don't be discouraged though, there is plenty to see and eat. Just go with a lot of patience (it will be busy) and have fun!

We were just at Epcot only for the Food and Wine Festival. Hit World Showcase about 1:00 on Saturday. Took us about four hours to do one circle around World Showcase. It was crowded but we saw and ate and drank what we wanted. Then we dipped down into Future World and saw Ellen's Energy Adventure and actually walked onto Mission:Space (right before 7:00). Test Track was not operating. Then we did another walk around World Showcase where the crowds were really, really bad. We left Epcot around 7:30 or so. Yeah, you can do it but you won't really experience the entire Epcot. Go for the Festival and consider coming back for another half day after that. Epcot in one day is not an impossibility but it's not a good idea.

I think it can be done. I don't know about doing both the food and wine festival and a big restaurant meal in one day. There are a lot of great options at the stations and they're only available for a limited time. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did! :sunny:
