We will be there Sun Nov 6 with our 4 kids ages 1,4,7,10.
We will be snacking at FWF all day and would like to sit and eat a late dinner before Illuminations.
Trying to get ADR for Rose & Crown to watch Illimin outside, but I know that's popular, so coming up with plan B.
I got 7:30 ADR at La Hacienda, but wondering if we will have a spot to watch after we eat?
Other idea, stake out a spot at 7:30 at the Cantina San Angel. Eat there and then watch. Want sit down place, but I could do CS so we could be near the exit so we can get the kids to bed as early as possible. Maybe I'll send DH for the food and he can serve me ;)

Any other suggestions that have worked for you would be great.

Last September I ate at Nine Dragons and requested (and got) a window seat. The reservation was at 8pm I think with Illuminations at 9pm. There was a booth at the water's edge in front of the restaurant so visibility of the Globe and low stuff was obstructed but the view of the fireworks was actually the best I have ever seen. You are raised up in that restaurant, so not at ground level and don't have people walking in front of you. They dim the lights and play the music inside the restaurant. I would definitely do it again as it was quite nice to be sitting at a table while watching the fireworks. Not sure how that will work for you if you're looking for a quick exit, or even if that food would be to your liking, but it worked out well for me since I have seen Illuminations many times before and didn't really care about missing the stuff that was obstructed by the booth.

Hey. I am going to wdw sept. 12-20 and booked a late adr for the rose & crown. when booking it the cm told me that they no longer take requests to sit on the patio for illuminations and double-checked that I still wanted the reservation. So I just wanted to inform you that even if you get the adr for the rose & crown you still may not have a view of illuminations from your table.

But even if you're seated inside, they will take you to their porch area to watch it. If you haven't finished eating, you can go back inside afterwards to finish up.
