Epcot Dining Reccomendations

A few years back I liked the look of San Angel Inn for our family but was so worried because of the reviews. We booked it anyway and was prepared for a not so great experience. It ended up being one of our favorites of the trip. It seems to be either hit or miss quality or differences in taste and opinions, but I wouldn’t let reviews direct you. Pizza, eh, I’ve had good, bad and mediocre- we can get that anywhere.

For neat atmosphere you may also want to consider Biergarten. I love the evening in the village feel and the oompah band entertainment. I also love the atmophere in the Mexico pavillion.

I agree with others who have said to eat your way around the booths. I go every year and 80% of meals come from the booths. Having said that, I'd actually say Spice Road Tables. They have outside seating and the small plates are great for solo. I like the Mexico pavillion and San Angel used to be one of our go places to eat while in Epcot since we love real Mexican food, however the last few times we've tried it we've found the service had gone down hill and it was so crowded and loud it was hard to enjoy it. We haven't been since Covid so I'm not sure how crowded it will be now. Also, isn't there a long line almost all the time now just to get into the pavillion?

If there is a festival going on, we tend to just eat from the festival booths, and aren't hungry enough for a bigger meal. We've not recently gone to either restaurant, so can't offer opinions on those (I did eat at the Mexican once, in 1985!) I'd probably pick the Mexico pavailion over the other, despite the negative reviews, just to experience it, but really and truly, wouldn't pick any sit down place in Epcot, during a festival. Just enjoy the food booths and all of that variety

Thank you everyone for your advice! Like many of you suggested, eating at the kiosks is a good idea. But a large part of me wants to try a table service restaurant. I'm not going specifically for the festival, it just happens to be occurring during my visit. So yes, lots to think about! It does seem like the consensus for Via Napoli is "good not great" and obviously I don't want to pay so much for just decent pizza, I want something better, so that's probably out, but we'll see! I still have a while before I have to make my ADR's so I'm going to do some more research, and keep checking in on this post for opinions. Thanks again!

I've never eaten at Via Napoli, but I adore San Angel Inn. I enjoy the food, the drinks are top notch and how could you beat sitting under the night sky at the base of a temple?? It's a must do every trip for me.

If you get a seat by the water at San Angel, it can be really magical. The tables in the middle of the restaurant aren't the greatest though since the view is just okay from there. The food is fine but nothing really that wows us, but then, we have good mexican at home so maybe it would be more exciting if there is a more of a novelty factor. Margaritas are excellent, but you can also get those at the bar next door in the pyramid.

Via napoli doesn't win as much on ambiance (the pizza ovens are cute, but that's about it). But the pizzas are really good, and it's a must do on each trip for us. And we actually find the price on the individual pizzas is often better than most other Disney TS. I definitely spent less on my individual pizza at Via Napoli than on an entree at San Angel, though of course, depends on what you order.
