Let me start by saying I have been to Disney World just about 25 times in the last two years and this was by far the oddest lack of crowd I have ever seen.

Saturday's traffic flow at MGM and AK was also odd.... the evenings and nights were busy but everything until was empty until 2 or 3pm.... see my snap shots below....these were taken between noon and 1pm....

P.S. Road Soarin 3 times in less than one hour...w/o fast pass

Only 25?? J/K

Good for you. I'm happy to get there every other year if that. As for your good fortune to have the park practically all to yourself, Ears to you!!

We arrive in 10 days and will land in AK as our 1st WDW park on 12/3 so hopefully, we will have your good crowd luck. Your pics are amazing!

Sometimes I wonder if the increased prices in gas, etc....are finally beginning to have an impact on crowds. I think that people will still go at the busiest times, but maybe if they had stayed for a week before, they will only be staying 4 or 5 days now. *Here's hoping Disney puts out even better discounts* LOL

We were at EPCOT last Wednesday afternoon and although it wasn't as empty as your photos we too waited a very short time for Soaring, and Test Track and walked right on Nemo. It was also easy to find a waterside viewing area for Illuminations. It doesn't happen often so we were thrilled. Yesterday MGM was crowded but we were able to see Fantasmic and the Osborne Christmas Lights without too much trouble. The wait for Rocking Rollercoaster was 100 minutes in the middle of the afternoon and the parking lot was pretty full.

We were there in '98 the week before Thanksgiving and it was very quiet. I know that's been a while, but from everything I've ever read, that week is particuarly quiet every year since it's the week before Thanksgiving and I think less people take off since they'll be off the next week.

I think it was just the calm before the storm!!!! My neighbors got back last night and said everything was great.....until Sunday!!!! Then the Thanksgiving crowds started showing up in droves!!!!

Maybe people were travelling on Saturday, or were arriving on Sunday to make it a one week vacation, ie Sunday to Sunday?
Whatever it was, you lucked out! :)

I think it is the lack of locals going that week. Remember, EPCOT Food and Wine just ended, a big draw for locals, and now they are are all shopping and preparing for the holidays with their families.

I'm pretty sure it was just the calm before the storm... because the park was packed at night....

Let me just say that I'm so jealous!!! We love  going when the parks are like that!

We started at Epcot yesterday and wound up at MK. Soarin had a 120 minute wait at 11:30, TT 90. Packed, packed, packed. We even waited 30 minutes for Living with the Land.

Same thing happened when I went to our local baseball stadium yesterday evening!!

What's the deal?

;)

We went the first week of December last year and it was pretty much like this the whole week. Epcot and MK were crowded at night because of the fireworks but other than that, it was almost like having the whole place to ourselves.
