My DW and I love the WL. I've always wanted to stay at CR and she has always wanted to stay at GF. However, Epcot is our favorite park so I'm thinking Epcot area deluxes. The questions is, which one? Which one is the newest? Which is best for two adults (no children)? Which has the best transportation? etc, etc, etc...

Thanks!

The Epcot resorts are my favorites...I've stayed at YC, BCV and BWV. Hmmm......with no kids.........I would maybe say either the BWI or BWV. The Boardwalk has more adult flavored restaurant/bars. However, the YC/BC are only 5 minutes away. I like the whole area and really the differences for me between resorts is minimal...

The BC is probably the closest to Epcot.

Depending on time of year, they could all share the same buses, so transportation is not a very big factor. As far as who is closest to which park, the BC is the closest walk to Epcot, about 4 minutes. The YC is only another 2 or 3 minutes and the BWI comes in at about 10 minutes. As for MGM, BWI is 10 mintues, and the BC/YC come in at about 20 minutes walking time. They all have resort boat launches which take an equal amount of time, depending on which direction you're going.

At the BC/YC, the swimming area is a huge draw for families. For some reason, you do tend to see more adults on the YC side. As they share the same exact amenities, my guess is that the beachy theme is a little more attractive to those with kids and the yachting theme, appeals more to adults.

BWI does not have any interior restaurants, so you do need to go outside to the Boardwalk for a meal. Again, just something that might make it appeal to adults. Not to mention the nightclubs right there as well.

I LOVED the location of the Beach Club and being able to walk to Epcot. Such a pleasant walk too. But next time I would choose either Yacht Club (I hear the rooms are bigger and I just think I'd like it better than BC) or Boardwalk Inn. I don't know anything about the BWI but I know I love the Boardwalk area and it's also close to Epcot.

My last trip was our first stay at the Epcot hotels and I LOVED it. I stayed at BW and I can't stay enough good things about it. We like it more than the MK area, although I'm a HUGE monorail and Poly fan.

We are staying at BC next month for our trip and will probably do YC the trip after that!

We've stayed at them all and you literally can't go wrong. We usually choose Yacht or Beach because of the pool--which is great for adults or kids. If it were just DH and I, I'd probably go for the Yacht because it is a little quieter and the quiet pool there is usually empty. Plus, it is sort of in the middle, with Beach on one side, BW across and the Swan and Dolphin next door.

I love the Boardwalk - I like the atmosphere and the location. I enjoy the pool area and the restaurants on the Boardwalk.

either the bwi or the yc. we love both...decide which theme looks best, or if you are pool people, make sure to consider SAB in your choice. we love the BWI, but SAB is so amazing that the yc has a slight advantage if we think we will have time for the pool.

If Epcot is your favorite park, as it is for our family, then staying at an Epcot resort is perfect!! Being able to just walk over to Epcot is great! Everything is there in walking distance and being able to enjoy the nightly activities on the BW we just love. Besides, everything is there besides Epcot and MGM you've got the BC, YC, BW and Swan/Dolphin. It's just perfect!

We've stayed at all of the Epcot Resorts and all have their merits. If I had to choose one, I would stay at the BC. We enjoy the location, SAB, and decor.

Good Luck with your "no lose" decision. :thumbsup2

The YC is my all time fav resort. But no one mentioned the swan or dolphin which is jsut a few more minutes of a walk to epcot. They also have bus and boat transportation. But the big draw would be way less children. We have two kids so the pool at YC (SAB) is the best on dis property. The swan/dolphin are considered deluxe resorts but are cheaper then the YC/BC/BW. All have access to the boardwalk area which is more adult oriented but does have some kids stuff.

We've stayed at all the Epcot resorts ~~ such a great location! For adults only I would recommend either YC or BWI. BC tends to be have more families with children and IMO is usually noisier than the other two. The Cape May restaurant has character meals which also draws the families with children, thus making the lobby area busier at those times of the day.

YC waterview is our very favorite :) Sitting out on the balcony in the morning or evening watching the Friendship boats come and go and looking out towards the Boardwalk ~ wonderful way to start/end the day at Disney.

BWI is also great for adults only. The boardwalk view rooms are nice but can sometimes be a bit noisy depending upon where your room is located (down by ESPN especially!). A courtyard room overlooking the quiet pool is a good choice if you'd prefer the quiet.

Good luck choosing! You really can't go wrong with an Epcot resort :thumbsup2

We stayed at BWI last year with kids, but if we were to go without them, I would still choose BWI again in a heartbeat. There's lots of activity along the BW to take part in one of which I am anxious to try... Jelly Rolls the dueling piano bar. :)

Of course all the Epcot resorts are beautiful and I'm pretty sure you'd be happy at any, but dh & I 2nd choice is Yacht Club personally.

We really enjoyed the walk to both Epcot and MGM numerous times on our past trip as well. There is the boat service, but found it actually quicker to just walk it most of the time from both parks.

Good luck deciding!

I heartily agree with this. YC is my favorite resort and having a waterview room to enjoy the lagoon and the the sights is heaven.

That being said - all of the Epcot resorts are very convenient to Epcot and MGM. There is some very minor additional walking from YC and BW to Epcot than there is from BC and same for from YC and BC to MGM than there is from BW. But, for adults without children, that additional walking is de minimis.

All the Epcot resorts are great - you really can't go wrong with any of them.

As you can see from my signature the Swan is my favorite but any Epcot resort is great. We enjoy all of them during our stays and just to be able to walk to Epcot whenever we want makes it all worth it since it's our favorite park and we're there all the time, even just to have dinner.

We have stayed at YC and BC and while liked them both, felt a bit out of place with our 3 year old daughter at the YC. It was nothing that was said or done by CMs, but just the atmosphere, which seemed to be more adult oriented. We live in a boating town where yachts that many smaller countries would not be ashamed to have in their navies can frequently be seen tied up at the local marinas and City Dock, so that may have played into that preception. Beach Club seemed just a bit more relaxed.

This is a common comment regarding the difference in "feel" between the YC and the BC. I have, however, stayed at YC with my very young children many, many times and never felt out of place or uncomfortable at all.

I agree. Disney hotels are all designed with families in mind. 3 year olds "belong" in all the Disney World hotels. The Yacht Club may be expensive and elegantly designed, but that does not mean that they are any less family-friendly. Disney wouldn't design a pool like Stormalong Bay if they didn't want kids to stay at the Yacht Club. If you don't like young kids, don't go to Disney World.

How did this become a thread about not liking children? My DW and I love children and WDW. I simply asked if one resort was better for a couple with no children.

Thanks for the input. It looks like YC is the leader.

I thought the same exact thing!
Not to throw you off since you seem to have made a decision but I wanted to let you know that the Swan is perfect for a couple. Very intimate and not too many children from our experience. We have 2 teenage boys, just to let you know we love children.
