I'd agree somewhat with the prior poster... depends on your definition of "practical."
We've done this a couple of times, when traveling with very picky eaters, where everyone disperses to get whatever they want for lunch and we meet back at the QS in the America pavilion to eat together. (Since it's in the center.)
It's a lot of walking if anyone wants something from Mexico, Norway, or UK.
It's a considerable trip even if they want something from China, Morocco, France or Germany.
Japan and Italy are next-door so it isn't as big a deal.
Keep in mind, the World Showcase is about 8/10 of a mile, walking distance, from one end to the other. Add waiting-in-line-to-get-served times to the trip, and it's a large project.
I don't consider it practical, by my definition, no.
