I am not sure that is even the correct name for it! Having a brain toot once again ;) Anyway, does anyone else think this makes for an ugly backdrop in pictures? I was looking thru our WDW photos once again and ooing and ahhing over the pics of my kids in the World Showcase. What a gorgeous setting :) I say bring back the red bus!

I actually thought the backdrops they have now were pretty nice. The bus was cool, but I actually perfer the Character Connection now. It's much more organized than the bus and it's indoors and in the air conditioning- more confortable for the guests and especially the characters.

Oh when are thos pics from? That is much better than we had in May. Just plane blue. You have a point with the AC. We have never been when it is terribly hot, so I didn't even take that into consideration

Those were taken a few weeks ago.

The photos we have of DS from Jan. '05 with characters from the bus are really very good.

The photos we have from earlier this month at Character Connection are OK, but NONE of them are centered properly. They are all on PhotoPass, and I didn't look at them before we came home. We bought the CD, so when I got ready to start printing I noticed that they are ALL off center. Some still look OK, others look kind of dorky. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Chip & Dale and had multiple poses with 4 different arrangements of people so we have a TON of pics. You would think SOME of them would be centered. Maybe the characters need a "mark" to stand on so the pics won't be skewed to the side. ;)

Wow - really? Cool! I like those. I liked the blue with the circles too, but this will make the photos look different.

Maybe we will head into EPCOT tomorrow morning after b-fast at Kona!

Heading to Epcot??? As always, tell us if you see any unusual characters!! :teeth: (lucky locals!)

My Character Connection photos also look nothing like Meeko's! Mine have the blue circles - I do like these new ones better! :)

WHAT?? The bus is gone???? How did I miss that???? The bus was the best thing in all of Epcot!!

Ok...I've been to WDW and Epcot a few times...but I haven't been to the Character Connection. Where is it located? I'll have to track it down for pics with the characters in December!

I kinda agree with you, but the character interaction was so much better than the double decker bus. There was practically no wait to see the characters and it is so nice to have the photopass people ready with the cameras. (Not to mention the air conditioning! ) It really is a great experience and I love the new backgrounds! :cool1:

Character Connection is located to the right of the fountain in Future World, next to the Fountainview Cafe and the "breezeway" that goes back to The Land.

It is a great place- you can usually see 5 or more characters in the matter of a few air conditioned minutes! Mostly the "classic" characters - Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, we have also seen Pinocchio & Gepeto there.

I liked the bus also. The characters were really diverse. Robin Hood, Sheriff of Nottigham, Prince John, Little John, Daisy Duck, Pinochio, Gepetto, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Mickey Mouse, Rafiki, and others it was a really good mix.

We really liked the bus because it was DIFFERENT. Also because my 3 yr old niece knew where Mickey lived because we'd been to his house several times, and she knew Epcot was a different place. Had we gone in to some air-conditioned room and met Mickey and friends, she probably would have asked us how Mickey could be there and at his house at the same time. Since he just rode in on a bus, stopped a few minutes, then rode away again, she assumed Mickey just dropped by for a visit before returning home.

The other cool thing about the bus was as someone else mentioned, DIFFERENT characters. We can see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald at Toontown. Why wait in line at Epcot to see the same characters? I didn't think the bus thing was disorganized or crowded at all, we were there in the middle of the summer and the park was pretty crowded, and there were about ten people in the Mickey and Minnie lines, but all the other characters we were able to go from character to character with no more than a 1-2 person wait at each one. Much better than the 45 minute lines we waited in at Toontown, and such a diverse population. And when the bus would come back an hour later, some of the characters were different even from the ones we'd seen the first time around.

And it's just so EXCITING to be walking along the street not even looking for characters and just suddenly have this bus of them drive out and all the kids get so excited and everyone follows the bus until it stops -- that was just FUN. Much more fun than going to a building where you know they're going to be and waiting in line. Like I said, we already have that option at Toontown, and at Camp Mickey Minnie. The bus gave us an opportunity to have a different character experience. I'm really sad about no Epcot character bus. :(
