Epcot Character Bus?

When I went to disney last year we never saw the character bus as Epcot has it finished?

It is on the 2006 disney planning DVD?

A post from another site below. It is from 2001 so could have changed but gives you an idea. Really need someone thats been recently with a current park map/schedule.

The schedule for Disney Characters on Holiday bus, at the present time, is as follows:

Showcase Plaza at 9:45 and l0:50AM and 4:00 and 5:05PM.

China at ll:55AM
Italy at 1:45PM
Japan at 2:50PM

It is a red double-decker bus that travels around World Showcase, with the Disney Characters, to the above areas. The Characters depart the bus for a time to sign autographs and pose for pictures with guests.

We need someone with a current park map. If it has finished they should take it off their site. I will find out soon we leave 3 weeks today.

not heard about the character meeting room - where is it? Is it a bit like Mickey's fair in MK?

Its called the Character Connection and its within one of the innoventions plazas (can't remember if its east or west) and I thought it had replaced the bus Anyone? please?

The bus has definitely gone.

The bus was there in May, used it at the opening of the park and I saw it near Mexico.

There is a meet and greet thing near innoventons east, by the fountian view bakery place

The character connection is supposedly on trial - it is on your right as you pass the fountain (next to the expresso bakery). Last reports were that it was succesful but I don't know how - you only get 5 characters instead of many more with the bus.

We went in January and the characters were waving us in as they never had a line (ok, one line for all of them, but the key 5 never changed so no point really seeing them more than once)

If they decide to do away with the bus permamently with just this poor replacement then a big thumbs down

That was definitely my understanding too, with the Character Connection being its replacement.

It looks like I'm not the only one who thought that was the case

The bus was there at the opening of the park in may we were roped off just by spaceship earth the bus drove up and there was some sort of dance, then they drove off.
Thinking about it, I cant remember if I saw the bus in the worldshowcase, or if that was my other visit in October last year,- maybe I am mixing up my visits a bit, but I remember being stopped by a CM by Mexico, as the bus was coming from backstage.- I will have to ask the people I was with LOL so maybe they have done away with the bus in the day and just use it for the opening of the park - I am unsure! now wheres my tablet....

The character bus was there last July. It opened the park and then i saw it in world showcase. I love it opening the park - it gets me all excited (the music is brilliant to, i have it if anyone wants it).
