Epcot at Christmas

Hello! We will be in Florida at Christmas and want to experience Disney at the holidays. We've been to Disney many times, but we've never experienced it at Christmas. My current thought is to go to the MVMCP on December 18th and then do the next day at Epcot. What is Epcot like during Christmas? Thanks!

Candlelight Processional is a program of music and Bible lessons.
Holiday music playing throughout the park.

I just love Epcot at Christmas. There are usually special holiday treats to purchase in WS and I absolutely love the storytellers.

The tree at Epcot is amazing. If you can do it check out the dancing fountain at night. It dances to Christmas music

If you only have time for a few of the storytellers, make sure to include Norway - it's hilarious! We also really like Italy, Canada, England, and Germany, but they're all good. Candlelight processional is something like the British service of lessons and carols, with a 300-voice choir and live orchestra. If you celebrate Christmas, don't miss it - it's terrific!

You will love this time of yr. at WDW! The castle lit up with the icicle lights at MK is spectacular, and the projection show on the castle(one of our faves) has an extra Christmas part(not sure if it is the same one during the party). The Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise, with Christmas decor and jokes, if you get a chance to ride it. You might want to hop the monorail to GF if you have time, to see(and taste!) the giant gingerbread house they build in the lobby. There is also a chocolate carousel at the Beach Club right outside the International Gateway at Epcot. We love the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, as others have mentioned, but you will need a dinner package to get a guaranteed seat, or you can get on line for extra seats, or watch from outside the theater to see and hear some of it(but won't get the full effect). DD enjoyed the storytellers as well.

Thanks for all the feedback; Epcot sounds like the perfect way to make sure we stay in the Christmas spirit even in sunny Florida! Now to make sure my husband is on board . . .

For the past few years (ok quite a lot of years) Epcot has added a special ending to IllumiNations. Hope they continue this. Make sure to catch IllumiNations one night and do not rush out before it is over.

Candle Light Procession is my favorite thing ever at Epcot. We really enjoyed doing it with the dinner package and not have to wait in the really long line.

Epcot is one of my favorite places to be during the holidays - you won't be disappointed. Make sure you take advantage of the special holiday treats they have around world showcase (as a previous poster mentioned).

EPCOT during Christmas is pretty outstanding. We go almost every year and EPCOT is among out favorite spots during the holidays—so much so that it pushed us to finally book Beach Club so we can walk over whenever we please.

It pretty much has something for everyone. The candlelight processional provides an awesome spiritual experience. It's really a nice, relaxing and memorable.

It's also educational. Each pavilion within the World Showcase features storytellers, who tell of the culture's holiday traditions.

And of course there's something for the foodies. Most pavilions feature cultural dishes served during the holidays in the respective countries.

It's definitely a very, very scaled down Food & Wine. In fact, it's not even close, but it's a nice little offering at most food booths.

Where is the dancing fountain?

Someone else might be more specific, but it's in Future World. We were leaving the Showcase to head out through the main gates and we caught it when it started. It's right by SE.

The passport was a booklet they had that was free. If I remember correctly, it had each country and listed some of the traditions. It had a place to get the passport stamped from each country. Some stamps were at the Kidcot station but others were at carts or stores.

I would think many 8 year olds would enjoy it. I'd think around 5-10 would be the target ages.
