Epcot at 6:00 AM

Rumor is that Epcot management is looking at possibly opening as early as 6:00AM to get more daily throughout on frozen ever after.

I think that would make for an extremely unique day at the park. I wonder if they would have all of future world open that early, or just select pavilions. The possibilities are endless.

I apologize if this has been discussed on another thread. But I welcome everyone's thoughts on what this might look like.

Yuck. As is, you can book a FP+ for one ride Frozen, for example), rope drop another (let's say Soarin') and then hurry over to the third (Test Track) and be able to do all three without waiting in lines that are each an hour long. Not liking the idea of having to get up to the park at 6:00 just to maintain this strategy. I highly doubt this is being seriously considered, though. Think about how much extra money it would cost. You would have to have bus drivers and boat captains working. You'd need cast members to work attractions, custodial, engineering base, food and beverage, etc. It would be less time to due the routine stuff they do at night such as light painting, planting and weeding, and general upkeep. Don't think they will deal with all of that just because one ride has incredibly high demand.

I highly doubt they will do a 6 am general opening. Too high a cost for too few guests.

I do expect them to add an early morning magic hour to EP, but even that won't be at 6 am. 7 am is possible, but with the MK emm starting at 8 am, I'd expect this one to follow suit, and there won't be much more open for it than the Norway two and one or two more with some kind of quick breakfast buffet.

Yeah, I thought it sounded unlikely when I first heard it. But it came from Jim hill who has a really good track record on rumors. I'm thinking 6:00 might just be emh, with 7:00 being regular opening, And just until summer ends.

Interesting to think about though.

With all respect to Jim Hill, even an emh with a 7 regular is crazy. As far as I can remember, except for the 24 hr events, none of the parks has ever opened before 7:00. MK during Christmas week doesn't even open before 7:00 and there's a lot more to do there than there is at EP. There's just no way this is happening.

But if it does, I will come back here and eat my hat (or ears, as it were).

To be clear, he didn't say it was going to happen, just that they were seriously looking at doing it.

I started this thead more to discuss what it would look like, though I do value the other feedback as well.

It sounds a bit far-fetched to me. Even for an emm type thing, it's very early.

I'd be really surprised to see them just open up early. I'd be more likely to believe they were opening early for an upsell event. I've figured all along that's where they would go with this.

If by really good you mean meh, I agree.

I work in the ticket booths. With 9am park openings, our schedules begin at 7am. I'm not usually on the opening crew, but it happens on occasion.
Are you our ticket expert since Figment passed away?
Off topic, but can you add days to the DVC 25 Anniversary ticket? I think I read it can only be upgraded to an AP. I would guess the price is not bridged. Is that correct? AP or nothing? Do you know if there is a "use by 2020" or some such date? I asked the question on the boards, and was told when I added it to MDE it would tell me. It does not show any date, so does that mean I can hold onto it for 20 years? Thank you.

2 hours before sounds pretty similar to my time working merchandise at a hotel. 6am start would suck for the 4am starters

Jim Hill, from what I have seen, does not have a good track record with being right about the rumors he hears.

6am sounds . .. . unbelievable to me. Maybe 7, but I would think more likely 8, and I would expect it to be a special ticketed event, the equivalent of EMM at MK.

Even with say a 745am to 9am EMM event at Epcot, I just cannot see the value in it. So you can ride Grand Fiesta Tour and Frozen Ever After and have breakfast at the Odyssey (assumption based on proximity). Unless Test Track was thrown in, it would be pointless but the distances involved would also eat up a lot of time. So you take 10 minutes to walk to Test Track, ride Test Track, take another 5 minutes to walk to Grand Fiesta Tour, ride that, by the time you are at Frozen Ever After you've already used up 45+ minutes and by the time you do Norway, Parks open you you still haven't eaten breakfast.
