Epcot after Illuminations

We are going to the world in 2 weeks and braving the July crowds. I wondered about exiting WS through International gateway after Illuminations - did I read that there is a path to the Boardwalk (if so how long would this take?). I thought that we spend a little while there before getting a cab back to resort (I'll do anything to beat those long bus lines).

The walk is about 10 mins. It is a very very nice walk, btw.
Also, there is a boat that will take you to the Boardwalk.
