I don't know is the answer. My daughter had a gluten intolerance and always orders a salad. I don't know if this is down to the CM or if it is official policy, but I was told on every visit (we've eaten quite a few meals there) that the kids can order off the main menu anyway. You would need to double check with others first before you take this as gospel. On each occasion I would just ask if they could make a half sized salad for her due to her allergies and the response was always that she could just get the regular salad anyway. Normally Disney restaurants will not make kids portions of adult meals and I took a chance a few years back and asked, my reasoning being that they make it all up from scratch and it is not pre-portioned.
They do have a kids sandwich menu so I would think that if you order a sandwich for the kids they would have to have the kids one, but there are no kids sides listed with the meals as far as I am aware so it would make sense that they have the same side and dessert options as adults.
