Can anyone tell me if they still sell the Cannonball sandwich at Earl of Sandwich? I just looked, and didn't see it on the menu. I don't know how I'll break the news to my son if they don't have it anymore! He's been looking forward to it!

It was removed from the menu last year. Then, earlier this year it was brought back for a "limited time only" thing, and then apparently removed from the menu again. You might ask the person at the counter if they are still making them -- it might just not be on the menu -- but I think the limited time only deal ended. It will probably be brought back again down the road, but I don't understand why they can't sell it year-round. Every sandwich chain has a meatball sub on the year-round menu.

Unfortunately no, I was just there on the 17th and asked cause it's my new fave...I settled for a Montagu but really like SherryE said I wish it was offered year round. The special they have now is Jerk chicken for 5.99.

After I posted earlier I remembered that the Disney Food Blog made a reference to a possible permanent return of Cannonballs, back when the "limited time" deal was announced in January. Here is their blog - http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015/01/15/news-cannonballs-are-back-at-earl-of-sandwich/

However, the EOS Facebook page seemed to indicate that the Cannonballs sandwich was, indeed, going away -- I can't remember when their last post about Cannonballs was, but it seems like it must have been before Easter? Since then all of their posts have been about other sandwiches.

So, it's possible that the Food Blog people were misinformed about the permanent return, or it's possible that a Cannonballs sandwich can be made even if it's not on the menu. I'm not sure, but it makes me mad that it's not there all year long!

ETA: Never mind -- DLandgirlie just solved the mystery above!!!

I am a big meatball sandwich fan, and not all of them are created equal -- that's for sure. In fact, I just ate one a few days ago at a place in the Original Farmers Market and, while it tasted great, there was so much cheese and not enough meatballs! Subway's meatball sub doesn't taste like Jersey Mike's, nor does it taste like Quiznos', nor does it taste like Which Wich's, nor does it taste like a big, hearty sub you'd get at an authentic Italian restaurant.

Earl of Sandwich had a meatball sandwich that didn't taste like any other chain's meatball sub either -- there was something unique about the sauce. It was a bit tangy, I guess? And it had mozzarella and parmesan on it. Just a really good flavor. I am forlorn that they won't make it year-round. If they can have a holiday sandwich all year long, a meatball sandwich shouldn't be that difficult to make.

We should start a movement to bring back the Cannonball! Lovers of the meatball, unite!

It must be the hot AZ weather getting to my brain but when I saw the title to this thread, I thought, "Earl of Sandwich is putting in a pool? That's unusual." LOL!!!
