Hi DisFamily! I am going to Orlando for a conference in October and my mom is coming with me. I've never eaten dinner at Kona but we plan to go and order the Coconut Almond Chicken or another entree. On www.allearsnet.com it doesn't say if they come with anything like a starch or vegetable. I know I can order a salad separate but wanted to know about the entree.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks - Diane :lovestruc

all of the entrees come with a veg & a starch. Here's 3 plates from May 2010 showing what each of these entrees come with. We love Kona, by the way!

Entrees:
“Miso-glazed Mahi Mahi; served with Asian Noodles and Baby Bok Choy $21.99“

“Teriyaki-style New York Strip: Sirloin Strip grilled with Pineapple Teriyaki Glaze served with Sticky Rice and Stir-fried Broccolini $27.99”

“Ginger-crusted Rib Eye: with Tamarind Jus, Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, and Stir-fried Broccolini $25.99 “

Love Kona - it is a must-do for breakfast and dinner each trip!

We love the broccolini, mashed potatoes and rice! Have a yummy meal, Tiger :)

Oh, and they also give you fabulous warm Hawaiian bread with a dish of macadamia nut butter for starters.

Kona's signature Hawaiian bread, served warm with macadamia nut butter:

Like the PPs said, they come with potato/rice and a veggie. The meals are delicious and huge! Always have a wonderful meal there.. never disappointed. Check out the sticky wings as an app, they are so good!!

It says what it comes with in the item descriptions.

For example:

Miso Glazed Mahi-mahi - served with Asian noodles and baby bok choy $21.99

Pomegranate Barbecued Pork Chop served with pan-roasted fingerling potatoes and braised Swiss chard $21.99

ect.

I don't see a steak option for dinner on the updated 5/10 menu, that seems odd, usually all places have a beef dish....

If you go to the official WDW site the menu lists both a Teriyaki NY Strip and a Ribeye Steak for dinner......

those pictures I posted above were taken at Kona on May 22, 2010. So I don't think the 5/10 menu you're looking at is correct. There are 2 steak choices on the Kona Cafe menu (the dinner menu, that is)

Allears and WDWinfo both rely on a lot of volunteer info...and it doesn't necessarily get correct info or typed in correctly. Although this menu (says it's from 1/10) looks correct. Everything we had is on there (including adult beverages, appetizers, entrees & desserts)

I was just there this past weekend and they have a two steaks on the menu. They also have where you can choose an appetizer, an entrée and a desert for 30.

You can always sub a side dish.. Like DH and DS will always get one of the steaks and sub mash potatos for the rice..

I had the shrimp and scallops and it included 3 shrimp and 3 scallops on a scoop of sticky rice. No veggie there. I was glad I wasn't hungry as it looked liked an appetizer. My DH commented that it wasn't worth the price. I was using a credit so I didn't care, but if I was paying OOP as we often do, I'm pretty sure I won't be ordering it again. I've gotten the prime-rib (not sure if it's still there now), but it always included potatoes and a veggie.

The coconut almond chicken is served with Asian greens, pineapple, strawberries, and toasted almonds tossed in a honey-lime dressing. DH has had it a couple of times, actually gave me a bite of it once and it was very good.
