Entree & CS prices??

I see that the deluxe dining plan has gone up 2 or 3 dollars pp, and I'm wondering if the entrees and counter service items have increased as well?

Still trying to decide if it's worth it to buy the deluxe plan. Will we actually be spending $72.00 a person in food per day? I'm thinking no, we won't and the kids (19 year olds - 3 or them) will be out on their own and grabbing quick bites most of the time. I'm trying to justify the price of the deluxe plan, where we would have two signature meals all together - at least 2.

Anyone have an opinion on this or know if the food prices themselves have increased from last year - or is it just an increase in the dining plan?

It is possible for a hollow leg 19yo to eat $72 in food at WDW:

Daily mug refills $6 in value, two snacks per day $6 value, so $60 left for meals:

Let's assume the kids are typical teens, sleep in, late night, no breakfast, early lunch:

Lunch at Peco Bill's: $14 (double cheese burger meal, beverage and dessert)
Dinner at Crystal Palace: $29
Late meal at Beaches and Cream: $19
Meal Total: $62, over the $60 breakeven value

Now let's say you chose a different plan, include 2 TS meals:

Breakfast at Boma: $17
Lunch in AK: $14 at Yak & Yeti
Dinner at Kona: $35
Daily total is now $66, over the $60 breakeven

Scenario #3: Family Signature Meal
Lunch at Sci Fi: $30 (inlcude milkshake and onion rings)
Dinnerat Jiko: $56
Daily total: $86, well over the $60 daily breakeven

Thanks for your breakdown, I'm actually doing one myself right now. My kids are really good with sitting down to dinner with us, so I'm thinking 3 or 4 out of 5 nights will be dinner together - it's probably the only time we'll see them LOL, so I am considering some signature dining in my calculations. I'll post how we make out...

Yea, in my scenarios I assumed that Crystal Palace, Boma, Kona, Jiko and possibly Sci Fi would be family meals.

As for signatures we had the best meal of our trip (food, service and atmosphere) at Narcoossee's!
