Entire FastPass System is Down Today!

I tried to order etickets online last night and the system was down. I got a message saying that my order is pending due to system availability. I really hope that the system is back up by Friday. I'm worried that if it is not, I'm going to get charged for the tickets and not be able to use them since we will have already left home.

It's over $900 worth of tickets. I really don't want to have to buy them twice.:faint:

My hubby was supposed to buy our APs last night but he wasn't able to. We're leaving for DL in less than 2 hours and need our APs! :(

It was crazy trying to get into Disneyland yesterday because of this! Told by a cast member that it also affected on property hotel keys and check in.... Later told this is an issue in Disney World as well. Yikes! It's our last day today...interested to see what the day brings!
 

I am wondering if they have been having problems for awhile. We had booked our room at PP a few months ago and received our email confirmation immediately like always but then a week or so ago my mom changed the dates and to DL hotel and they never sent the email. She KNOWS it was not her email because she changed the dates for the other two hotels we will be staying at while there and got those immediately. So I called back last week told them to try sending it to MY email still nothing.

Then I called on Monday and STILL no email. I finally told them to just mail me a copy. So I am thinking there are problems that have been a long time coming.

I agree I sure hope it is all fixed before Cars. EEK!

Well, I think they figured out entering the parks by the end of the day. When we went in at about 6:45 there were no problems, we just had to show our IDs since pictures are no longer printed on the pass.

Nobody even LOOKED at our AP's yesterday. We had them out for our initial entry into DL, but the CM never asked to see them. They also never asked to see our ID. (Correction: DH says the first CM tried to scan our AP's).

WHen we got back to our hotel (off site), our card key didn't work, either. So, I wonder if that was a coincidence or if maybe those card key issues spread beyond only on-site hotels?

I wonder if anything has changed today? I really like using FP. We probably hiked back and forth across the parks twice as much as usual yesterday checking lines (times weren't posted at the front of the lines) and my oldest son has issues with his legs and yesterday left him in quite a bit of pain. Usually he doesn't have pain when we come to DLR. :(
 
We are supposed to go today. Debating if it will be worth it to drive from Escondido. Haven't said anything to the kids. Does anyone know if the system is back up?
 
Is there any article on the internet about this? A quick Google search found this thread.
 
I bought a 3 day PH this morning from the DL website. It took a while for the ticket to post to my e-mail, but it did arrive, so at least that part of the system is back up.
 
Yuck! What a nightmare for the cast members.

I got e-mail confirmation today for the tickets that I purchased last night. Hopefully that is a good sign.

I just check a wait time app and it shows FP as unavailable. The park has only been open 20 minutes so that doesn't mean they are surely still down.

I do wonder if you went yesterday with a ticket, if it didn't use a day off of it?
 
It was more than just fast pass, their entire computer system went down. At the ticket booths they had to manually process credit cards. At the entrance they stamped the date on tickets, pass holders had to show ID as they couldn't scan passes. You could pay for food and merchandise with a credit card, but when they slid it, all it was doing was storing the information for processing later, they were not able to authorize the dollar amounts like they normally would from what I was told, so hopefully they don't get too many cards that were maxed out. Also, I imagine the not scanning tickets is going to cause some issues for non ap guests with multi day tickets later on. Parking was free for most, if not all guests as they couldn't take card and it wouldn't be fair to give free parking to those who don't have cash and charge those that do. Basically anything that requires access to a server was down throughout the resort. Oddly though many nearby places were having problems with credit and debit cards, I don't know if it was related, but if you have used one in the area over the past couple of days, I would watch your balance.

By the time that we got there, they were down to one train, but that may been because of how close it was so close to park closing.

Sounds like they lost a T3 line or more in the area. We had this happen before outside one of our ISP datacenters and it was not a fun day, and just barely eclipsed the day we had the I Love You virus break out on our servers. :scared1:

I think you might be right.....it's possible everyone got a free day at DL yesterday.

I know. :goodvibes It just made me laugh about the several posts of not knowing what one would do without FP and reaction to it possibly being awful.

It's just FastPass. It's not like there's not running water.

It just made think of Chicken Little running around not knowing what to do because there was no FP. AHHHHHH! :rotfl:
