Hi all,
I am a Disney Club member. In the membership kit there is an Entertainment book touting "50% at 3,000 leading hotels and resorts", plus discounts for restaurants, retailers, etc. The book's instructions say to ask for the "Entertainment Discount" when booking and then show the Entertainment logo on the back of my Disney Card.
So I am wondering if I can use my "Entertainment" membership to book a 50% hotel in Orlando near WDW. When I look in the book, there are no hotels listed for Orlando. I suppose this makes sense, Disney doesn't want to give people a discount on offsite hotel rooms, they want them to book a Disney hotel.
But if I go to the Entertainment web site it gives me a bunch of hotels, including some Downtown Disney hotels. It also says the discount is for "members only", but I am a member, right???
My question: if I call one of those Downtown Disney hotels and mention I am an "Entertainment" member and book at the 50% off price, at check-in can I show them the Entertainment logo on the back of my Disney Card and still get the 50% off?
Are they really saying that I am an Entertainment member except when I want to book an Orlando hotel? If so, I think that is really petty of Disney, since I want a cheap hotel room to be able to visit their parks and spend money.
The Entertainment Book for my area is $20. If I bought this book, could I then get the discount at Orlando hotels???
Thanks for any help/comments!
