Entertainment for kids at Heathrow

Hi all,

I think I have already answered my own question by searching the details for terminal 1 at Heathrow but I thought I might check.

Is there anything for the kids to do to run off some steam before getting on our flight?

I fear it is an untapped market...... funny really as I would happily pay for airport prices for a soft play area.

I guess as no one has piped up that my assumption was correct.

Contensious subject but I just don't think they want kids to fly.

Oh well needs must.

Hi Kirsten,

Unfortunatley you are correct...there's no Kids area at T1. That said at the moment due to the works going on in T1 and the re shuffle of the airlines between the terminals T1 tends to be a bit quieter. T1's departures lounge is split into two. Most people tend to stay in the first half where HMV and such like is .....not knowing that the second half (where Harrods is) has a buch load more seats in it too. So you may find more space to spread out down there before your flight.

Heathrow traditionally caters for business travellers more so than familes. Hence more shops and more lounges, but not a lot for families like at LGW.

Thank you very much for that information, I will remember to go through to the next section to find more seats. Can't think of any more questions but I will be in touch if I do. We fly out of Heathrow to NZ quite a lot, well we did before children, but this is the first time from terminal 1 so it will be good to see a new terminal. Plus they have a Giraffe restuarant which we all like, so that will be a good place for dinner.
