Entertainment Book?????

Hi. I'm new here and I keep reading about the Entertainment Book and Entertainment rates. We are planning a trip to Universal and would love to stay at either of the hotels. We do plan on staying 4 nights, so if I understand it correctly the Entertainment Book makes you eligible for rates like $125/night, is this correct?

How do I go about buying an Entertainment Book? I take it it is the Orlando Book I need to buy.

Please give a newbie some advice. Thank you for your help.

You do not have to have the Orlando Book. Buy the book for your area. You can go to entertainment.com and order a book from there. Do not purchase the book until after you have confirmed that the Entertainment Rate is available at the hotel. If you are able to make a reservation using the Entertainment Rate, then purchase an Entertainment Book for your area.

the only caveat to waiting to buy a book is they often run out of books at local bookstores -- and on the website--fairly early in the year.

In summer of 01 we were going to stay at HRH, and I reserved the entertainment rate, only to discover in May that I could not get from anywhere a book either for pittsburgh, our nearest city, or any city in florida or any other place we were going to be visiting. I ended up having to buy just any book off the webiste in order to get the entertainment card.

With the discount you get off the rack rate at the UO hotels, it really does not matter if you buy a book from outside your area. We are staying at PBH next weekend for $170 in a $350 rack rate room. Just that savings alone is worth the $20 for the book. Fortunately, I was able to get one for my area, which has already saved me $38 at local restaurants. But, the savings at PBH would have made me buy a book for someplace in Alaska if necessary.
