Entertainment Book

I know what the Entertainment Book is. Help me understand what the benefits are. I know about the HOJO rate, as a matter of fact I have it booked as our alternate hotel if DLH doesn't do a promotion for our dates in Dec. Does it offer savings on other parts of your Disney vacation? Should I buy the Orange County Book, or my local book?

If you haven't done so, check out their web site at www.entertainment.com and register. They should have all the information you need and I believe you might be able to look at the other states books, but I'm not sure on that.

We also have the book but it's pretty much local (Long Island and NYC) with a few discounts for out-of-state things like Legoland in CA and a few others.

Your local book will get you discounts for the hotel, no need for the orange county one for that. From there its up to you- there might be a few local coupons in it you could use, but for the money you would probably be better off getting one you can use at home. We dont leave the resort area enough to use the coupons that are local to them.

Don't buy the book yet, the new ones come out in November and if you are going in December you will need to buy the new one in November.

Yes, that's true. The 2007 book and card expire on November 1, 2007. The 2008 book will cover your dates of stay in December.

Hmmm. . . well, it's not really a coupon you use. It's an actual plastic card, and on the front of the card it reads "Valid now through November 1, 2007." I have always just assumed that the card is only good through its expiration date. But I also have to admit that NOT ONCE have I been asked for my ent card when checking in or out of the HoJo. And I have always used the ent. rate when booking all my trips. I do always have a valid one just in case I AM actually asked.

I wonder if anyone else has had an experience with the HoJo asking for the card and then being able to use an expired one??

I don't know about HoJo, but there are hotels that do require you show the entertainment card in order to get the discount. We had to at a Best Western a few years ago and one hotel I'm looking at right now told me on the phone that I must show it upon check-in in order to get the discounted rate of 50% off their rack rate.

The card's number changes every year when a new book is purchased. It's not necessary to register the card, especially if you are only going to use the coupons itself. But it is still good to register it if something comes up and you need to book a hotel, airfare or even rent a car.

I just called HoJo to reserve a room & the in-house reservations lady asked for my ent. card number. If the hotel is more than 80% full they will not give you the ent. card rate. I didn't get it

Call back again...I recently booked for the entertainment rates.They never asked for my card number.Thank goodness because my Ent. book is in the mail

When I first called ho jo I asked for reservations and I know they transferred me to the 800 number cause he asked for my card number too. They cheapest they would give me was $89

I called back 2 days later to the hotel and asked a few questions then asked for reservations again and the $54 rate was available. Not only that but they did not ask for my card number but did tell me I had to have it with me @ check in.

just to clear up something here....when you call hojo ask for "in house reservations" they wont ask for the card and they will give you the $54 rate...if you talk to regular reservations then you probably wont get it I live in the central valley and the book is mostly for Fresno which I never go to except to go through it so most of the coupons arent good for me but they do have coupons for Pizza Hut and McDonalds, subway, quiznos, jack in the box, taco bell etc...also my dd is going to Seattle next week and she stays at the HI express by the airport everytime...last summer I got her a suite for $119 a night which was very good but this year with my ent rate its $55 per night except one night when it goes up to $62...I was so happy I did the

I am just planning our trip to DL for July and came across this thread after already booking HOJO at $129 per night. I do have the entertainment book for the bay area, so how do I go about get a $54 rate? Is it available in the summer months or is it an off season rate?

Just call HoJo's and ask for the Entertainment Book rate for your dates. The have a designated number of rooms available at this rate, so it depends on whether they have already been booked or not. You'll be asked to show your card (or not) when you check in, but you don't need to have one when you make the reservation.

What other hotels will the Entertainment card work for in that area? We have HoJo's booked for 5/14 and 5/15 @ $54 a night. Just curious if there are any that are a bit closer with the same good deals.
