I remember, years ago, the only time we ever stayed onsite at Universal...actually I think it may be the only time we ever WENT to Universal, I remember there was a PHENOMENAL deal with the entertainment book. I want to say it was almost 1/2 price or something. I think the discount was for Loews hotels which the Universal hotels were.

Anyway, is this still the case? We're thinking of doing Universal this year and just have no idea at all about packages and things but I wondered if the entertainment book was a worthwhile purchase for this purpose.

Thanks!

No, that great discount doesn't exist anymore.

Thanks for your help!
What are some ways to get discounts on the Universal Hotels? Is there some kind of Harry Potter Package?

There are AAA rates, stay more save more rates and annual pass rates. There are also Harry Potter packages. Check online at www.universalorlando.com for those. I always find that you get the best rates by calling directly. The reservationists will tell you what the lowest possible price is for you.

I've priced a couple trips, and the HP package is just about the most *expensive* way to book.

I have found that booking hotel separately is good, and buying tickets from a discounter like undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets is a good combo. In September we got an AP discount for the hotel, and even with the cost of upgrading one of us to an AP still comes in $90 less than the "stay more pay less" hotel-only deal I had priced before.

You just have to check out all possibilities for each and every trip you plan!
