Entertainment at Chef Mickeys? Compared to Other Character Meals?

Do you recommend adding Chef Mickey's to our plans if we are doing other meals with the same characters? What is fun and entertaining about Chef Mickey's beyond the usual photos, autographs, and the napkin twirling I've seen on videos?

What characters are there at breakfast and dinner. Most reviews say Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto. But some descriptions say only Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale... and maybe the others.

We will already see Mickey, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy at other restaurants and we will see Minnie in the park. We will definitely do the following meals:
  • Ohana for breakfast - Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto
  • Donald's Safari breakfast - Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Goofy
  • 1900 Park Fare breakfast - Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Tigger and Pooh.
  • Crystal Palace Lunch or Dinner - Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet.

Ohana is a definite because we loved the food last year and Stitch is there. And the best part is food is served family style so we don't have to waste time going to the buffet when the characters are coming around. I think family style is more relaxing. The Donald's Safari breakfast is definite because we like the food and safari outfits although the entertainment seems limited to table greetings/autographs/photos because it is crowded in there. 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace are definite because the food and characters are great fun and the location is convenient.

Thank you.

The characters at Chef Mickey's for both breakfast & dinner are: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto - Chip n Dale used to be there years ago.

As for what makes Chef Mickey's unique - well for me it's the atmosphere: very fun/upbeat/energetic, love the bright/open atmosphere with the occasional monorail passing by overhead, we love the breakfast - a great way to start off the day

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's (Dec '09) with the characters previously mentioned (Chip and Dale can be found at Garden Grill for Dinner - don't know about breakfast).

We do love the atmosphere because our girls love to watch the monorail. Unfortunately, this was our first meal here and we were seated directly underneath the monorail line. It was a bit distracting with what noise it made because the restaurant itself is quite noisy. The little napkin twirling thing was cute, by my girls (DD2.5 and DD6) prefered the parades they got to do at Ohana & Tusker House. I felt the characters were extremely rushed at Chef Mickey's compared to the other character breakfasts we did on our trip. (We did 6 including Chef Mickeys.) We barely got hugs in before they were running to the next table, not to mention pictures. Luckily, we had all of their autographs (as well as other great pictures) from previous encounters as this was our last meal of our trip. I planned this as our last meal because I expected it to be our favorite because of the characters that were there. We actually disliked this one the most. Rushed characters and the worst tasting food from a breakfast buffet top our reasons for probably not returning to Chef Mickeys.

Tusker House, Ohana, and Princess Breakfast at Epcot are our Family Favorites and will be must on our "must do" list for future trips! We enjoyed Crystal Palace as well. Maybe we will have to try 1900 Park Fare and Cape May on our next trip as I have read good things about them both.

Have a great trip!

I've only done Chef Mickey's for dinner, but we did it twice. Neither time were the characters rushed. They played little games with DD and goofed around with her. Once we had a party of 7 with 3 kids and once it was DH, DD and I. They took as much time with each child when she was one of 3 at the table as when she was the only child at the table.

I can't speak for b-fast interaction.
