We are flying to MCO for Universal Studios on July 10-15th and then on the 15th, we are renting a car to drive to Daytona for a few days. We’ll be flying back home from MCO on the 20th. It makes sense to me to rent from Enterprise directly from MCO since that’s where we’ll be flying back home from. But are we able to get to Enterprise to pick up the vehicle on the 15th since we aren’t flying in to the airport? We’ll probably uber to the airport to get the car.

It is more cost effective to pick up and drop off a car at the same location. What kind of transportation would you normally take to MCO if you were flying home? I’d plan for the same.

You may be able to rent locally near where you are staying and then return to MCO for less money. Local off airport one way rentals, returning at the airport are often cheaper than renting directly from the airport. Vehicles go back and forth locally all the time so they are not going to ding you for a one way fee. Plus, you avoid the airport taxes and fees.

This isn't always the case so price it both ways but this is often a really good, overlooked option.

Yes you would be able to take any form of transportation to MCO and pick up the rental car. But my recommendation would be to pick up near where you're staying for the first part of the trip and then return it to MCO when you leave. It looks like there are a couple of Enterprise locations near Universal.

I agree it's worth pricing picking up elsewhere and returning to MCO, and that it MIGHT be cheaper. But yes, it could be more expensive, so yes, you are paying a "one way fee", even if it's not listed as such.

Although "time is money" while on vacation, I would definitely get an Uber or something back to MCO to save $200+

Interesting, I did search those dates for a rental near Universal and returning to the airport and Hertz, Budget and Avis all came back with similar rates to MCO. I guess Enterprise don't want customers returning to the airport. A good lesson in comparing multiple agencies.

I used Enterprise just because that's what the OP specified. It's also from the Car Care Center. Picking up from another location may have different prices. I agree it's a good exercise to do though.
