Enterprise vs Payless

So I usually rent from Enterprise or an affiliate (alamo/national) and am usually happy with everything.

On this upcoming trip, payless is about $25 less ($5 per day).

I know enterprise is on airport and payless is a shuttle. I dont think that alone is worth $25. However research on the web seems to say that at payless I will not only have slow service but high pressure insurance sales and hidden fees. Avoiding that is worth $25.

I previously asked about payless but again i am curious what people have experienced between the two companies and if the $25 is worth it

Thanks

I think either company is equally crappy so you might as well save the $25... In my experience Enterprise had very pushy insurance. I had to sign 3 different times (including once after I got in the car) to decline the insurance.

Definately do Enterprise at the airport. It is worth the $25. Make sure you sign up for the Enterprise-Plus card. Enterprise = National = Alamo at MCO. They have the same owners and you are directed to the same rows of cars at MCO.

Just last week, we walked from our flight out through baggage claim and crossed the street to Enterprise. I thought we could just choose a car and go, but the Enterprise people, said no, but because I misunderstood, they would go ahead and process me at the pick-up point anyway, and upgraded my car because I had made a mistake! How often do you get a perk when you are at error?

Then I took one minute to initial papers in like 6 places... but that's the same everywhere.

Then a nice person walked me to the National/Alamo/Enterprise car row and asked me which one I wanted, I picked one. She then stayed until I had loaded my young-un into his car-seat. She walked me around the car, checking for any damage -- there wasn't even a scratch -- it was a brand new Hyundai. She asked if I had any questions.... needed any maps.... I didn't, so I said goodbye and left. It was one of the quickest exits from a car rental ever!

I know that Payless rates are generally a little cheaper than the on site companies, but I have never felt the saving justified having to schlep my bags to a shuttle bus, and waste the additional time involved.
I'm surprised that Enterprise is only $25 more than Payless, I would expect that of Alamo and maybe National.
But that has just been my experience.

If you are National club member, when on Enterprise you can enter your emerald number (since all same company) and book your reservation. You still go to counter, but they have all your info. I even got better price this way. I didn't have to go through all the "up sells" because I was in the system. I would definitely pay the extra to rent in the terminal.

Thanks - never knew this - I wonder if I call if they could add it since I've already booked a minivan at a decent (from what I've seen) rate. Or I wonder if it would still be faster to just join the Enterprise club to get through the line faster.

You know, I just tried this in July and entering the National Emerald number did NOT work for me on the Enterprise website. Hence, I joined the Enterprise Plus.
