We have a minivan rental through Enterprise in Sept (they are cheaper by about $50) but have never rented through them there. We do have an Enterprise Plus account (rented from them once quite awhile ago). Does that allow us to skip the counter? I have read some reviews that paint Enterprise horribly. Is it really that bad? Are the lines long? Any advice?

Just a tip, if you have a Sept rental the rates should drop before your trip. This rental may be the first of a few you make, alas not prepaying.
I was able to skip the counter with Alamo, and Thrifty. Thrifty last trip was the fastest and least expensive at the three week out mark.

I enrolled in blue chip at Thrifty, skipped the counter, walked out the door into the garage. There was a sign with my name on it and the row of my car. As long as everything was fine with the car, and it was, I just left within about 15 min of getting our luggage.

My only experience with Enterprise was an off site hotel that picked me up and dropped me off from the values. Great weekend rate for part of the trip. The only complaint was it was before I had a GPS and went in circles getting back on my own.

Thanks. I have been watching all the rates and are hoping they come down, but if not, we are happy with it. We have 11 days for $287 for a minivan through costco. We have used Budget, Alamo, and Hertz at MCO, just never Enterprise. We were able to skip the counter for all but Budget (but it was a short line), so was wondering if we would be able to do so with Enterprise. It may be a moot point and prices at one of the others drops, but just my over eager self being prepared!

I rented from Enterprise at MCO two trips ago. I think I looked for way to skip the counter, but didn’t find one. I don’t remember the line being too long, but I do remember it being a two-step process

First, you check-in at the in-airport desk. Then you had to wait at a small office in the garage to be escorted to a car by an employee. I didn’t like this because a) I had to wait in a line again, and b) it felt like it was just there to try to up sell me to another car. I like the Alamo process at MCO where you walk to an aisle and pick out your car on your own. And last year at Alamo I was able to check-in at a ATM-like kiosk and even add a driver to the rental agreement, all without dealing with an employee.
