What exactly is the ENT rate for the Hojo? Is that short for entertainment rate? Does that mean that you need an entertainment book?

How do I go about getting this rate or finding out if it is available for my dates? (June 27-July 2)

Thanks!

Yes, that is short for Howard Johnson's entertainment rate. It's the up to 50% rate you get for select days. When you check-in you'll be asked to show the entertainment card that comes in the book (or just buy the card off ebay). The days should be found in this link, which sadly isn't working right now:

But I do think the final days of June are included, so you're in luck there.

On Monday the last date available for the ent. rate was June 18th. Unless they have added days.

So, I need to order an Entertainment book for my area or for the Anaheim area? Does that even matter?

It looks like from the link we will be able to get the 15% off for our dates.
Thank you so much for the answers!

any book will work

They did add all the rest of June as of a week ago, but they might have taken it off, I don't know, as that page is not responding for me right now.

Carj, if you don't happen to get the entertainment rate, there are DIS and mousesaver rates at 15% and if you have an AP, you can get 20%. But again, I'm sure they added the rest of June... if this freaking link will work.

Just wanted to let you know that I booked the HoJo today for June, and I got a better rate with AAA than the Entertainment book.

Well, I'll be darned!

Can anyone else attest to this? They took off the June dates they so recently added. I hope that wasn't a glitch.

Carj, I'd recommend you call Hojo and ask for in-house reservations. Someone here will know the number, but I never reserved with Hojo before. And ask them if they still have the dates up for the rest of June.

FYI, the special entertainment book rate that we talk about around here gives a $59 base rate on a basic room. Then 69 and 79 for higher "tier" rooms. That's generally better than any other way to get a room, other than something like priceline.

But it has to be available during your dates, and then you have to call the hotel in Anaheim directly, during pacific time business hours, to make sure you are truly getting THE entertainment book rate we all talk about. :)

Although my previously saved link didn't work, just going through hojoanaheim.com, then discussion boards, then finding the e rate pages shows me what I've seen for weeks now, which includes Entertainment book rates through December of '09.

Right now, however, there are no dates at the end of June or in July at all.

But this can CHANGE! I once had my date pop up 3 days before my trip...I'd already reserved through orbitz and was in the "can't cancel" period so I couldn't switch hotels, but it did pop up.

Thanks! I will definitely keep checking.

The June days might have sold out already. There's a limited number of rooms at that rate, so if they get snapped up, they can disappear...

If you won't be using the coupons in your Entertainment book, I'd recommend just buying the card alone off e-bay. It doesn't have to be a registered card; they just want to take a gander at it when you check in.

I second the pp. I got my entertainment card off of ebay for $6 (including shipping). Some are cheaper. Mine was not registered and is now registered to me. I live in an area without a book, so there was no need for me to get a book. Not worth the money. Check out ebay!

Anyone ever get the Ent. rate in July? Crossing my fingers that it will come up. I know July is a busy month but would love to try and get the rate. We could stay an extra night for that rate!:cool1:

Looks to me like they're taking off June dates as they sell out. I know that there are a couple of days we have the Ent. rate in the second week of the month that now aren't showing on their calendar.

When you call in house reservations do you have to give them a entertainment card number??? We are getting ready to book for October now that dates are up and wanted to make sure they wouldnt ask for that until we check in.

Nope. Just need to show them the card when you check in! :thumbsup2

Also, just wanted to add that some of the end of May/june dates we are going and have booked the ent rate are no longer showing. Wonder if those june dates got booked up already?

First and foremost, I just wanted to thank "ballerinamom" for graciously sending out extra ENT Cards that she had. :goodvibes I have my room booked already and plan on using it.

Secondly, does anyone know if they "punch/mark" the card? I mean, can it be used more than once or ?

You can use the ent card until it expires. They do nothing to it other than look at it, I'm not even sure they asked to see mine last Dec.! You can also book 2 rooms per card.
