Enough with the destroyed jeans already!

The beat up look still has hold here in the NY/NJ area. I am not wild about it, but we are surviving. The embellished jeans are huge now too, which I really like. My daughters have some really pretty jeans with stones and buttons and all kinds of work on them. I also love dark jeans, hope that comes this way!

Doesn't almost every fashion trend start in NY and then work it's way around the rest of the country?

Here in Cally we still sell those jeans... I honsetly can't see paying 50+ bucks for them. My son wanted some and they were 75 dollars.

We were in the mall yesterday(NJ) and these beat up jeans are everywhere. We saw a guy wearing a pair that had about 50 holes on each leg!Old Navy has ones that are just one or two holes in each leg.
Im not liking this look at all. Of course, at my mall I think big hair is still in too-it never left in the 80's!

When I worked at the mall, a lot of times I would ask the wearer of such jeans how much they paid for them. Then I would laugh and tell them they could get jeans JUST like that at the Salvation Army for less than a third of the price.

*pfft*

I also had to laugh my behind off at this trend (I think it was just local, I dunno) of making skirts by cutting the legs off of jeans. Most of the girls I saw in these types of skirts didn't have the foresight to adjust the pockets, so you'd have a very short skirt with ugly pocket flaps hanging down below the 'hemline'.

Like another poster said they aren't really to in anymore here in Chicago. You see people wearing them sometimes, but in stores they have boot cut dark jeans almost with a blackish tint to it. I love them they make you look thinner. I alway thaught Chicago was behind on fasion compared to New York. but maybe not or maybe we are the only ones that are out of fasion!
