Enough toiletries for week?

I tried to find similar threads using search, but nothing turned up. We'll be staying at Saratoga Springs in a few days. Since we don't get daily housekeeping, I wondered if enough soap and shampoos are left for the entire stay. If not, we'll just bring some. Thanks! We do like the Mickey products--we know we're in Disney. :earsboy:

We usually do fine with the soap, but not the shampoo. I always bring our own from home. Of course I hate the mickey shampoo, it leaves my hair in tangles. It does the same to my kids, but they insist on using it anyway, so I drag a really large bottle of "no more tangles spray". :) Even then they usually run out of shampoo in between maid service.

You should have enough soap, but you will absolutely not have enough shampoo. I could use one of those Mickey shampoos in one shower.

Even if they provided eough shampoo, I'd recommend bringing your own. The Mickey shampoo/conditoner is awful.

FYI, the bath soaps are quite large and are Ivory, so very mild. My DH was the only one using the Mickey shampoo, and yes, he does run out between mousekeeping days, but I always have my nice shampoo along, since I wont be using the Mickey stuff on my hair.

Mousekeeping has always been willing to give us more soap, shampoo, kleenex, whatever, if we run out. I would not bring this stuff unless you do not like using the Disney brands.

Hey, Diane, the soap doesn't float. I tried it. So it can't be Ivory, just an Ivory smell alike.

Technically there is a charge for more toiletries. They should give more TP, tissues, paper towels and DW detergent if needed.

Our girls (we have four) have always wanted their own brand of shampoo and conditioner. Makes them feel more "at home" in their home away from home. We've either packed it at our peril or (more often) made a Target run on the way in from the airport--where we've also picked up a couple of bottles of wine or champagne for us!

REALLY! I never tried it, but I was sure it was Ivory. LOL, must be a cheap knockoff!

Since I'm folically challenged, the shampoo isn't much of an issue for me - what does grow is serviced nicely by the Mickey shampoo. DD, vain little thing that she is, tried it once, and bellowed like she was being tortured - said it made her hair "feel like mucus," which is a terrific image if you're snacking while posting. DW said "it took the color right out of my hair," so there you are - they both bring enormous jugs from home. DS doesn't give a rip - a chip off the old block.

Soap is, well, soap. Haven't heard any complaints. I do hate it when hotel soap is reduced to dime size and you chase it all over the shower.

And Dean, regarding TP - I'd glady pay more dues if we could upgrade the quality a bit. You ever try to survive a vacation blowing your nose on that stuff? You can clean your whole lip right off.

The shampoo won't last the entire week, but I recommend running over to Basin at DD and getting one of their shampoo bars if you don't want to take shampoo from home. They last up to a few months (so you'll have some to take home) and we get a DVC discount at the store. They are also very compact for traveling.

LOL, I try not to use Toilet Paper to blow my nose. As for more dues, you usually end up with higher dues and the cheap items in the long run.
