We're looking at flying into Orlando on a Friday, arriving noonish. Renting a car, drive to Royal Pacific, check in, pick up our tickets (purchased years ago, so it may take a bit), hit Universal/IOA. We'll spend the rest of the day/evening in the parks. Get up the next morning, have bell services store our bags, hit the parks again for most of the day. We check into a pool home this day.

We'll have FOTL for Friday evening and all day Saturday. I've got us scheduled to come back on Tuesday for a day, although we won't have FOTL that day.

Is that enough time to do Universal/IOA. We have 7 day tickets, but we're also planning to do Disney and water parks, so I'm trying to decide how much time to allot to Universal vs. other activities, especially since we'll have FOTL the first day and a half.

Depends on when you're visiting. If it's a slower period you shouldn't have any problems but if you're coming down during a heavy travel period, you might have problems seeing everything because of the crowds. Park hours differ quite a bit so that will make a difference too in terms of how much you will get to do on the arrival day. It may not be worth it to waste a day for just a few hours. Even though Forbidden Journey does not accept Express at this time, I would recommend using the unlimited Express for IoA and saving the Studios for the other day.

is this the trip for your siggie of june 2012?
(I'm guessing it isn't since you mentioned having 7 day tickets for your trip.)

a lot depends on the dates you plan for the quick UO visit.

check the calendar for park hours to see how late the parks will be open on that friday you are doing a partial visit.

If you are only going on friday and Saturday to UO, you will have crowds especially on a saturday.

in fact, all parks have more peeps visiting on a Saturday.

staying on site will alleviate long lines for rides and attractions for you.
in that manner, saturday should not be an issue for crowds.

If you have been to universal before, then you know what you want to concentrate on for your 1.5 days in the parks.

If you have park hoppers, it is possible to hit the main highlights in the parks for that 1.5 days.

If you could share the dates you are doing this visit, i could be able to be more specific to help you in answering your questions.

i could never accomplish both parks in 1.5 days, but i do read how some peeps do.

Never been to either park before. We have 7 day Universal/IOA tickets. We'll be arriving June 15, 2012. We're planning the 1.5 days with FOTL on June 15 and 16, then coming back on Tuesday (won't have FOTL for this day) to hit what we missed and/or ride things again.
