Can someone give their opinion on if 11:00 am lunch and a 6:40 dinner offer enough time between reservations to feel hungry. I know its subjective just trying to get thoughts on what others think? Will this take a lot of time if having to travel from AK to a monorail resort for the 6:40 ressie?

Which restaurants are you eating at?
Depending on the flow of buses it might take awhile to get there it might not. You should plan on 1 to 1 1/2 hours for travel.

In a normal world, I would say no. BUT>> It's vacation and Disney World, and take it from someone who normally eats only one big meal a day, I think that's a reasonable time span. When I vacation, especially with kids, they can eat almost anytime.

That is plenty of time to be hungry. While we are at WDW we usually find ourselves getting hungry a bit earlier than normal. I figure it is due to all the walking and burning calories. So you should be fine with that.

Depending on what time AK closes that night should determine how much time to allow to get to the resort.
But I agree an hour and half is a good estimate. You should be able to catch a bus to that resort, but most the monorail resorts share the bus, just be aware of that.

Yes, I think that is plenty of time in between...and I agree with others that you need to allow 1-1 1/2 hours to get to the resort for dinner....depending on where you are going.

We were thinking yak and yeti for lunch and ohana for dinner. I hope its not too much food planned for the day but breakfast would definitely be too long till dinner but we will need out of the heat a bit in July. AK is always our most difficult day and its a EMH day too. AK is slated to close at 8: P.M. but we will have to leave before that.

I would say yes.

We're going in June and we're doing DxDDP. My inlaws were here this week and they LOVE to go out for breakfast. As a result, I ate way more for breakfast than I normally eat and really felt "full" when we got up from breakfast. I paid particular attention to how I was feeling in terms of hunger, and I found that I "could eat" about 4-4.5 hours later. That doesn't mean I was starving by any stretch, but that I could have had a sandwich or something along those lines by the 4-4.5 hour mark.

So, unless y'all really overeat at breakfast, I'd say you'd be ready for dinner by 6:40.

If you consider 90 minutes for breakfast, then that means it'd be about 6 hours between the end of your breakfast and the beginning of your dinner.

If you are traveling from AK park (not the lodge) to a monorail resort, you can either take a bus to that resort (could stop there first, depends on the resort) or take a bus to TTC and board the resort monorail (again, the timing will depend on how long it takes the bus to arrive at AK and on where the resort is on the monorail line). If it's the Polynesian, you can walk there from TTC. This may take a little less time that it would take if you had to transfer buses.

I did not know you could walk to the Polynesian from the ticket and transportation center. I thought we surly had to board a monorail or a boat again.

It isn't a very short walk from TTC to the Great Ceremonial House but it isn't that long either.

thanks this gives me new information to consider. I will tell the kids at lunch to eat a bit lighter. Hope that is possible. :):rolleyes1
