We have booked a stay at bc in mid August for two adults, two teens and one child. Do you think this will be too crowded? This is our first trip to Disney and want to make it special without breaking the bank.

Thanks for your help!

Beach Club right? Yeah, that's pretty tight quarters. How many days are you staying?

Well it probably depends on how much time you are going to spend in the room. We are a family of five and we now always get two rooms at a moderate vs one room at a deluxe. We then have four beds, two tv's and most importantly two bathrooms. It also will cost no more and usually less to get two rooms at a moderate. They will guarantee connecting rooms as long as none of the teens are over 18. This option works great for us. FYI last summer we got connecting rooms at CSR for $74 per room per night excluding tax. That was significatly cheaper than a room at BC or anything else at that level. :flower:

I also have 2 teenage boys and I get two rooms because I have to have 2 bathrooms with the four of us.

Welcome to the DIS!!! :Pinkbounc

Well ... I think you'll be a bit crowded. Woody5 has a good suggestion about 2 moderate rooms v/s one deluxe. Of course, that'll be more of a problem if you already told the kids where you were thinking about staying. Once they see the pool at the Beach Club, they'll be happy sleeping in a closet to be able to swim there.

Thank you for all your replies!

I should have said we plan to stay six nights. It probably is a good idea to have two rooms at a moderate, but we do really like the look of the deluxe hotels versus the moderates. Is there a big difference?

Another idea I had was to spend a little more and get a junior suite at Wilderness Lodge, but then we are talking even more money! It would be nice to have some privacy and not be right on top of each other.

Out of the moderates I do like the look of Port Orleans. So I guess what I'm asking is out of the three choices which would you pick: bc, two rooms POR or jr suite at WL?

Thanks again for your help.

I think your family will be fine at the Beach Club. We are a family of 5 as well and always did one room in a deluxe. For us it was almost always the Polynesian and the rooms are more spacious there. But we also had some split trips with a few nights at BC. We were fine. The pool is lots of fun and the amentities of a deluxe....room service, proximity to a park(s) are important to us.

While the Jr Suite would be nice, I think you're stuck with 1 bathroom and 2 teenagers. Since this is your first trip, I would book 2 rooms at POR. I think your kids would love it. Plus, if you get rooms in Alligator Bayou your youngest can sleep on the trundle bed :).

There is a difference between the Deluxe resorts and the Moderates. The Deluxes have interior hallways, the moderates have exterior hallways. The Deluxes rooms are a bit bigger as many of them can hold 5 people. The Deluxe resorts have fancier table service restaurants. The moderates have food courts with many options and some of the deluxes have "snack shops" with limited options.

I guess that I would recommend that you book at POR, but keep an eye on the special discount codes. You may be able to get into the WL in 2 rooms for about the same price as 2 rooms at POR at rack rate. www.Mousesavers.com tracks discount codes. Last year codes came out in May and June for August dates. If you don't want to check codes yourself, you can book your vacation through Dreams Unlimited (http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/) and they will apply any codes automatically to your reservation. I'm sure you can tell them that you would be looking for an upgrade to a Deluxe when codes came out.

Good luck!

We have stayed at all of the moderates. We like CSR the best. I know it is large but we really enjoyed the resort. I think the teen boys would like the large pool area. There are also boards to rent for the lake. In my opinoin CSR seems a little more upscale than the other moderates. Don't get me me wrong, I would be happy to stay at any of them but my favorite is CSR. :goodvibes

Yes, it's tight quarters, but how often will you be in the room? Resort is so awesome with the best pool, walking distance to Epcot and boats to Epcot and MGM. I think it would be worth the tight squeeze to be at such an awesome resort location!
