Hello, we will be traveling with me, my DH, DS, GDD and MIL, is there enough room for an aero matress even with the trundle or is there enough room for a roll-away bed? Do they even have roll-away beds? Thanks

POR AB is set up for 5 people. I don't think you can get a roll-away there. And it would really be cramped with an aero bed. I'm not sure where you would be able to put it. You have to push the trundle in as it is if you want to get out the door. If your GDD is under 3 you may be able to get a pack and play type thing. That would free up the trundle bed for one of the adults. Have you considered getting two connecting rooms at a value resort? That would give you much more room and 4 double beds rather than 2 doubles and a small trundle. And two bathrooms and more storage area.

I wouldn't do it! I stayed at POFQ with my mom and 2 daughters (6&8) for a long weekend and called while I was there to change reservations for my next trip with my best friend, her daughter and my 2 daughters. We were going to try to stay in one room at POR (same size room as POFQ) until I saw the size of the room. If $$ is an issue I would book 2 values, if not I would move up to a deluxe...runs about the same as 2 moderates. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't do it either. We were there last year with 2 adults and 3 children and it was fine but definitely a little cramped. I wouldn't try 4 adults.

We did it without any problems, but only for two nights. It was DH, me, DDIL, DS and DGD,along with a stroller and enough luggage for a 17 day trip. We didn't spend much time in the room, and after the second night, when our Land/Sea cruise package began, we simply checked into the connecting room next door. We would do it again, even for a longer stay. However, you have to be people who get along very well, and have similar ideas regarding how tidy the room needs to be!

You could try Fort Wilderness home, sleeps 6. The POR rooms are small for 5, especially when there are 4 adults. We did it with 5, but kids were 6-8-10, and at night, if someone coughed or sneezed, at least 2 others woke up too.

Thanks for the info. I actually do get along with my MIL, after 29 years of marriage and she is wonderful. I was more concerned with sleeping for my 21 years old son who is 5'10", $$ is a little problem but I have no desire to stay at any of the values. I have always wanted to stay at POR, even back when it was Dixie Landings. I will let my MIL know about the size of the room and let her decide to cough up the extra $$ for another resort or room. She was not in the original plans to go, but she mentioned that she would really like to go with my GDD as she went with GDD's mom at age 4 and my son at age 4, it is a tradition. My FIL has cancer and it has been a trying 4 years for her and she really needs a break. There is plenty of family nearby to stay with him while we are gone and he is able to function normally, just a lot slower than he used to be and not as much strength. I appreciate all of your help and we will be mostly in the room with me and GDD for a nap and then everyone for a night sleep. Thanks again

My Mom (5'7" age 63) and I (5'5" and a half and 34) took turns sleeping on the trundle and found it quite comfortable and actually better than sleeping with my 7 yr old daughter (she's all elbows and knees anyway). The bed is small but my Mom and I are both side sleepers so it worked out just fine for us. We love POR. We were 3 adults and 2 kids when we were there and it didn't seem crowded at all, but we were hardly there, just to sleep really. Hope whatever you choose is completely wonderful for you!

We stayed at POR AB with 5 after being evacuated from the Cabins at FW & I must say I loved POR. However, given the choice I still perfer the cabins. I'm seconding the above for several reasons:

Your son is 21 and 5'10". He will not fit well on the POR trundle, nor, I am assuming, will entertain the concept of sharing the bed with Grandma. In the cabins you and DH could have the murphy bed (quite comfortable) and g'ma, ds and dd would have 3 beds: a double and a bunkbed to fight over, as well as their own TV set. There is also a door to the bedroom giving you two private areas so your DD could go to sleep while everyone else recounts the day.

The extra cost of the cabin is easily offset by the fact that you'll have a full kitchen. Make a quick grocery stop on the way in to pick up cereal, milk, eggs, frozen pizzas or snacks and you can save $$$ by just eating breakfast and either dinner or lunch (whenever you need a rest) in. I find it quite relaxing not to have to run off to a food court in the morning before hitting the parks and inevitable we wound up back at our room for a rest during the day.

Housekeeping for the cabins is wonderful (from what I hear - we never let them in to see our mess LOL) They'll even wash up your dishes!

You get to ride a BOAT (big hit with my kids) to MK, and from there can even catch the monorail to Epcot. We never had trouble with long waits or crowded docks/buss tations from FW.

And my favorite: the bathroom in the cabins is, franky, HUGE, and well designed.

The only negative I can think of: The pools at FW are nothing to write home about, but then how much of your vacation were you planning on spending in the pool?
