So I am going in just under 2 weeks to Disney!!! I ahve been slowly (very slowly) stock piling pins for DD and her freind to trade while we are in Disney. How many do you think we need?

I got a starter set with 2 pins for trading, a NYC WOD Pin for them to trade and and some from teh Disney store on clearance. I am also going to get a lot of 20 on ebay for them to split and trade so my tradable pin total is:

35 but I am sure they are going to keep 3-5 each. So they will have about 12 pins each to trade. I will probably buy them each 1 pin as a memory keepsake but worry that this is either too many or too few pins.

Am I over thinking this? Just wondering as I need to get the pin lot off of ebay soon.

Thanks
Lara

The answer is.......it all depends!

If they get bit by the trading bug, which is easy to do, then you are going to have to ration those pins. Take the total number they have to trade and divide by the number of days on property. Good in theory, but rarely works.
I can go thru 8 in about 2 hours.

If they don't get bit by the trading bug, then you MIGHT be ok.

There is a Disney outlet store, if you can get to the north end of I Drive. But haven't been there recently to know if there are any good deals there.

Tahnks Daber. I worry that they won't get hit by the trading bug and then i will ahve tons of pins left over...Maybe i'll get a lot of 30....

Thanks again

We limit our DS13 to 10 pins per day. He can easily go through 10 pins before lunch, but we do not give him new pins until the next day.

You probably won't have to worry about that being too many...

There is no such thing as too many pins ....lol:rotfl2:

Of course we are obsessed with pin trading and usually have 10 to 15 per day for trading.

even if they trade them all, one of the fun parts of pin trading is always looking for one you like better, so the fun never has to stop, even if you have a limited supply.

The pins you buy from the disney store in a mall are not tradeable....as I understand. Look into this before you trade. Maybe someone here can correct me if I am understanding this pin trading thing correctly. That is what my son is telling me as he read it somewhere here. :confused3

To the PP-

i have been told by many folks here that pins bought at the disney store are tradeable. Also, i checked with the folks who work at the World of disney store in NYC and were told that it was no problem.

I am not too worried about it as we don't have too many pins from TDS.

of course the pins you buy in the mall are tradable if they are real disney pins. however, only cast members HAVE to trade with you if they don't already have that pin. No one else has to trade with you at all.

I aim on having 15 pins for each of my kids to trade on the next cruise and they can just trade till they have exactly what they want. Maybe I'll even have a couple for myself this time!

Disney Store Pins are most definately tradeable!!

The ones on the lanyard 2 pin starter sets are a cheaper made pin, but they are still disney, and still meet the conditions set in the rules for pin trading!

We have done lots of trading with these pins!

Have fun Trading:cool1:

Below you will find the official pin trading etiquette.....
