Okay, here's the deal: Belle is almost 9, and has been taking dance since she was 3. Dance is offered at our rural central school--the teacher comes in and teaches all levels 2 afternoons a week. She approached me about starting a competitive jazz squad (team?) next fall--I assume she wants Belle on it, or at least try out for it. I'm sure Belle would love to do it, but I have no clue what this might entail. So, the question is, how do these things work? About how much time/money/travel is involved? I'm sure there are different levels of competitiveness, and we'd be starting off fairly easy. So far, the only "competitive" thing Belle's done in dance was, the teacher took her tap class to the fair last summer. (Belle had a blast, even though they didn't place--she just was thrilled to be there!) My only knowledge of competitive jazz comes from the shows on ESPN, so I'm really clueless--please help!
