We've been at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge (VWL) since last Saturday, Oct 23. We'll be headed back home on the morning of the 31st.

This has been a different trip than prior ones, as I was diagnosed with heart problems in March and have been on ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, and the like, all of which causes extreme fatigue.

Thus, we've spent a grand total of 90 minutes inside the theme parks this entire week, spread across two parks. I haven't gone on a single attraction this trip. Honestly, you really get to appreciate the resort itself more when you stay away from the parks.

We've relaxed by the pool or in the room most of this trip. We got the same great room that we've had on prior visits - a 1 BR on the 5th floor.

While this 8-night trip is winding down, we're just 35 days away from our next 8-night stay in a 1-BR at BLT.

A few Magic Kingdom shots:

I've really enjoyed playing with my new Nikon D7000 DSLR that I got just two weeks ago. Highly recommended!

Great shots!!

VWL is the kinda place where you can enjoy, relax and not feel like you have to be in the parks. We have thought ourselves that a trip like that would be possible for us in the future, maybe exploring some things outside of the norm.

Beautiful pictures, so clear! Thank you for posting them, and I'm glad you're enjoying your very restful trip!

Mike...sorry to hear about your health issues but if you have to spend a lot of time around a resort, VWL is a great one for hanging out and relaxing in all the nooks and crannies. :thumbsup2

Thanks as always for the great photos and for taking the time to share them while on your vacation. :)

Mike, we arrive at VWL on the 31st! Thanks for warming things up for us. I hope we get a nice 1 BR on the 5th floor too. Your pictures are great and looks like you have perfect weather and the crowds seem manageable. Take good care of yourself so you can continue to enjoy these well-deserved vacations.:goodvibes

It seems like forever since your last trip report, Mike, and I really look forward to them. I am hopeless with fancy cameras but love to see great photos that others take. DH also has multiple health issues so we spend more time at the resort than most people and I think that is why we love a BW view room. We can sit on the balcony and still feel like we are part of the action. Sounds like you have been able to combine rest and fun. See you back at WDW in 35 days!

Sorry to hear about your heart problems, but glad you are relaxing and enjoying the vacation. We love WL - it was one of the reasons we looked into DVC and ultimately bought in (@SSR).

We left the day you arrived (23rd) - we spent a week at AKV Kidani. I hope you are having the same beautiful weather we did - it was gorgeous the whole week. I know it was heating up a little on the weekend we left - I think they were talking 90 degree weather.

Enjoy your last day - and thanks for the great pictures. We visited the WL on Thursday Oct 21st and just spent some time walking around, one of our favorite places.

We rented a pontoon boat at the Wilderness Lodge marina, and spent some time tooling around Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon.

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems Mike. I agree with Granny that VWL is a great place to relax and just enjoy the resort. Cozy rooms, great pools and so many places to stroll around and enjoy the theming.

Thanks for posting the photos! Did they look that good straight out of the camera or did you process them? Do you have a polarizing filter? They are beautiful!

DVC Mike, I am sorry to hear about your heart problems. I am glad that you are enjoying our beloved Lodge and your pictures are amazing.

Great pics.....thanks for posting.
Sorry to hear of your health problems.....no better place to rest than WLV:goodvibes

I'm too lazy to do any post-processing. The JPEGs are straight from the camera. I have a polarizing filter, but didn't use it this trip.

Fabulous photos....enjoy the rest of your trip as it winds down! :goodvibes

In my next life I am going to be able to take photos like these, Mike. You are always so generous in sharing your vacation time with those of us who enjoy your talent with a camera.
