Enjoyed reading about Jim Lewis

Just got my Vacation Magic in, and I really enjoyed the interview with Jim Lewis. He seems like a very decent guy. What I enjoyed most, though, was the blurb on the side about Hammond, Indiana. I was born in Hammond and went to high school there! Nice to know the guy in charge of my beloved DVC is my homeboy! Not that it will get me any extra perks, but we all enjoy learning of common bonds, don't we?

I was just going to start a thread about Jim Lewis when I saw you beat me to it.

I have very high hopes about DVC after reading that article. It alludes to some great things to come. Wonder what they are? He hopes to make his mark on DVC with positive enhancements. Best wishes to you, Jim!

He ran the BWV annual meeting in December that I attended. He seemed to be a very good manager.

We met Jim at the OKW annual meeting last December. He was very personable & seemed to have a good sense of humor .

Read the Jim Lewis article, too, and was impressed with his substantial finance background! Interesting that one of his first moves was the large price increase... there must be solid data that shows this higher price can be supported by the demand.

Jim Lewis is offering to make enhancements to the DVC. I like to hear that. I think the pool slide at OKW is the kind of thing we have to lookk forward to. I think we could use this thread to look into our crystal balls. Could there be a monorail to SSR and DTD? Could there be upgrades of other DVC pools? Better restaurant options? More walking paths? Available shuttle/cabs in resorts? Better technology?

I liked that he said that all the Disney Departments would be working closely with DVC and making efforts to support it.

80,000 members strong! That's unbelievable. He also recognized that member referral is their primary marketing.
