Does anyone know where I might be able to find info about the engines of the Disney Magic? The only way I can keep my diesel mechanic grandpa interested in the ship is *hopefully* to find some info about the engines, how they're fueled, etc. Anybody know or know where the info would be... I'm usually amazing at google searches but can't seem to find the "right" info! Thanks! ;)

I was not able to find much and I generally like two to three sources. I can only offer you two for this. My search terms were "disney magic engines Fincantieri sulzer". Hope this helps.

Source 1
The ships are propelled by five 16 cylinder Sulzer diesel engines and two 19 megawatt General Electric propulsion motors.

Source 2

Tonnage 83.308 gross, 8.452 dwt., dim. 294 x 32.25 x 7.90m. (draught)
Powered by five Sulzer-Grandi Motori-Fincantieri 16 ZAV 40S diesels, 57.663 kW., installed in two engine rooms separated by a third compartment housing the two General Electric 19.000 kW (each) propulsion engines, twin shafts, speed maximum 24 knots, cruising speed 21.5 knots.

Thank you! That actually helps a lot.... Gramps will be thrilled to have more "specifics" about them! I appreciate it! ;)

I have a small booklet from the Wonder cruise stashed away somewhere that I will try to find. It listed everything about the cruise ship - engines, AC, water system, sanitary system, etc.

I asked guest services about a tour and was told "sorry, no can do" - which I totally expected. But they took my name and room number just in case. Well on the second night, the chief engineer called me and we talked almost an hour about all the things on the ship. I also had this sheet left in my room from him. If I can find it, I will post a copy to keep your grandpa interested.

That would be AWESOME! I hope you can find it! No pressure though! I'm just excited to be able to have some kind of "Disney" talk with my gramps where I can show off the amazing ship! Disney really does know how to do it right! ;)
