Hey guys!

I'm looking at proposing to my girlfriend when I visit Orlando this August (I'm from the UK) - but I have a specific idea of what I want. Please don't laugh. Can anyone help? Despite having been to Orlando 21 times (! ) I'm still at a loss as to what to do.

I want to try and reenact "Kiss the Girl" scene from "The Little Mermaid" - we're both big Disney fans. So a subtle romantic gesture of being on a rowing boat with someone / a band singing Kiss the Girl in the background. The amount of people present is irrelevant but really I'm after a non-Crocodile infested lake (difficult I know!) where my and my girlfriend can row a 2-man boat, with perhaps a band singing the song on the pier/shore/another boat.

Does anyone know of any hotels that might help? Would the boardwalk do this perhaps? Or Downtown Disney?

If you've got any alternative suggestions I'd be really interested in hearing them. This type of planning is fun/stressful/more stressful than fun.

One thing that you may want to look into is a photo shoot at the Grand Floridian. They used to do these with the Photopass photographers. You could surprise her and pop the question during it.

I am absolutely no help with your original idea. But if that doesn't pan out, then another option might be to carry out your proposal at Discovery Cove. They have some great add-on packages there to make the day REALLY special. And I am sure their staff could help you with some extra special ways to pop the question so your beloved will never forget the day . I know you can have a personalized dolphin buoy delivered during the dolphins swim.....and they have in-water photographers there to capture the whole event. Add in a private cabana, and she wont be able to say no.

You might be able to get one of the disney band or the disney quartet singers to help if you call WDW Magic Kindom. It never hurts to try. Good luck.

You might want to call Disney Weddings I believe they help with proposals also.

Start with calling disney wedding.. Hopefully they will get you in touch with the right people. I've heard WDW will work with you.

I proposed in disneyland at The Carthay Circle restaurant during fireworks. The staff there was supper helpful. If I was to do it over again at WDW I'd pick California grill during the fireworks.

I know the restaurant in Cindy's castle has a package for engagements.

If you use a restaurant, once your on property make physical contact with the manger. I was unable to reach them by phone. But they saw I had a note on my res.

Tip: get the photopass repaid cd we used it for our engagement / announcement photos

The deluxe resorts around bay lake rent different water craft. They might have a row boat.

And we used a country cover of kiss the girl as our first song!

I'm actually worried about the rowing boat now because of all the crocs in those lagoons - what do you think to this (that I've just heard of?!) wdwinfo.com/recreation/fireworks.htm

What do you think would be most appropriate? This way I could get other people on board that are, o wait, they play instruments? They're a band?! How convenient. Or - if I'm a bit cheap, they could pipe the song through the speakers.

Fort Wilderness rents canoes for paddling along the canals. They try and keep the gator population down. Many of the canals flow right past campsites which face the water. I suppose you could hire someone to sit on the bank along the way and play the song. I can't remember which camp loop it is off the top of my head but you could probably get that info from the DIS camping forum.

All seems a little over the top to me, but it is doable.
