engagement stories

I love reading these stories. I'm a hopeless romantic and I think that being proposed to at disney (anywhere at disney) would be a dream come true. My current BF knows how much I love disney and I'd love to get engaged there.

We've only been together a year and haven't really discussed marriage seriously yet. Other people have told us that this is it but we haven't really talked about it but boy oh boy would I love to get engaged there.

For now, I just read, cry, and hope that someday it might happen for me.

hey!

I didn't get engaged at WDW but I did just get engaged two days ago so I'm still on a high and can't stop talking about! My now Fiance decorated the bedroom with loads of candles and got down on one knee and presented me with a gorgeous diamond ring! I said yes immediately and I still haven't stopped smiling! Maybe we'll have a disney honeymoon though!!!

i've got one too! :Pinkbounc i LOVE reading these!

Then-DBF and i were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and he wouldn't tell me where we were going for dinner, except that it was at MK. We get there about 4:30 and I’m looking around at all the places we could possibly be having our anniversary dinner, and DBF just keeps walking me up Main Street. Cinderella’s Surprise Celebration is going on, and as we watch it, DBF tells me I can be his princess for the rest of … (he hesitates) tonight. I go, “Just tonight? What about the rest of my life?” After the show is over, he goes, “How would you like to have dinner in her castle?” We had our anniversary dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table! After looking over the menus, the hostess comes by our table and says, “The fairy godmother told me it’s your anniversary and to give you some extra pixie dust!” It was adorable.

After dinner, we ordered a Crown Sundae and our waiter brought us an anniversary present – complimentary CRT champagne flutes! It was all so magical. After dinner, Cinderella was signing autographs and taking pictures in the foyer, and we lined up to meet her. As we got up to her, here’s the conversation.
Cinderella: Is this your princess?
DBF: Yes it is.
me: And he’s my Prince Charming.
Cinderella: Are you on your honeymoon?
DBF: It’s our anniversary.
Cinderella: How many years?
me: Three years of dating. So how’s Prince Charming? Has he given you a ring yet?
Cinderella: Oh yes, but it’s so big, I can’t wear it out! (turns to me) Next time I see you, I better see a ring on your finger too!
DBF, a little excited: We’re going to be here for breakfast tomorrow morning, will you be here?
Cinderella: (hesitates slightly) Of course I will be! It’s my Castle!
(CM motioning for us to take the picture)

Afterwards, we walked around the park and rode a few rides, watched Philharmagic, then circled back to watch Spectro. Once it's over, DBF piggy backs me all the way back to the Castle Courtyard to get a spot for Wishes, We find a spot right in front of the Castle, in front of the courtyard w/the Mickey & Walt Disney statue in it. Wishes gets ready to start, and DBF whispers, “So what are you wishing for tonight?” And I want to tell him I’m wishing for a ring (haha) but instead I say, “I’m too embarrassed to tell you, too shy.” He says he’ll tell me what his wish is after the fireworks, and asks if we can stay for the Kiss Goodnight. I say of course and we watch the show. The show is *beautiful* and as soon as it’s done, it starts to rain. People started leaving before it was even over, and DBF asks if we can still stay, so I say yes. He takes me over to the bench around the courtyard, blindfolds me, and asks me to hold something. I hear him walk away and I’m nervous, because I think he’s going to propose. He comes back over, takes his bag out of my hands and whispers in my ear, “I love you so much.” He takes off the blindfold, and I see him getting down on one knee and I start to cry. I clap my hand over my mouth and the tears just start rolling. He asks me to marry him and then holds out the ring box. I can hear people clapping and flashes going off, and I hear 2 CM’s that DBF enlisted to videotape the proposal giggling and saying, “Did she even say yes yet?” and so I nod my head because I can’t talk I’m bawling so bad, and I just hug DBF. All that’s coming out of my mouth is, “Oh my god, oh my god…” tear tear tear … and big nods. He goes, “Happy Anniversary!” and it’s the best anniversary, and the best day I’ve ever had.

Still debating if we will go to WDW for the honeymoon!

 Oh My Gosh

my dh2b didn't propose in wdw but it was really romantic so i thought i'd share. Last year we went on a flydrive to the West Coast of america and i've always wanted to go to beverley hills, CA. I knew we would go there on our travels but didn't know that my boyfriend had booked us in to the Regent Beverley Wiltshire Hotel which is where they filmed Pretty Woman (my all time favourite movie!). I was so excited when we pulled up outside, I couldn't believe he'd arranged everything. We went down to the pool and chilled out that afternoon and he told me to go to the spa for my treatments!!!! he'd arranged for me to have a massage, facial and hair and make up done! I couldn't believe it i was being seriously pampered. By this time i was thinking that maybe something special was going to happen. When i got back to our room there was a note on the bed to say that i was to get really dressed up as he was taking me for dinner and meet him in the bar a.s.a.p. I was just so wrapped up in how romantic the whole thing was and how 'pretty woman'!! I went into the bar to find him and he told me we were going to The Ivy for dinner. I asked him why all the romantic gestures and he just smiled and said i looked beautiful. Well, we went to dinner (wonderful) came back to the hotel for a few drinks and had a fantastic evening but no proposal. I couldn't believe i'd misread the situation so much but i'd had such an amazing day/night i just fell asleep. When i woke up in the morning i could hear the bath running so i went into the bathroom and the bath was filled with bubbles and there was chocolates and a can of cola on the side. My boyfriend said that we didn't have to check out untill 12 so to take a bath and relax. I was really grateful as i had a slight headache from the night before :earboy2: i was relaxing and eating my chocolates when he came back in. Honestley he looked like he'd seen a ghost and i knew this was the moment. He sat on the floor next to my bath, took my hand and asked me to marry him. I was soooooo happy i pulled him in the bath he got soaked!!!! of course i said yes and we're planning to get married on 30 May 2007 his birthday.

i have a feeling my BF of 2 yrs is going to pop the question on our trip this coming aug/2007 trip. We are going with my whole family. I would love to hear stories of others getting engaged. Pic of weddings as well. It has been my dream since a child to get engaged/married @ wdw it's a very special place for me. :bride:

My fiance and I are huge Disney fans so I decided to make my engagement a special one. After trying to come up with some ideas I contacted the event coordinator at WDW. Becky was a huge help. She sugested I go with the engagement package. So I did, the whole thing took place at Cinderella's Royal Table. After a great meal the waitress brought over the engagement ring in a glass engraved slipper over roses with "Will You Marry Me?" written in chocolate. She said YES! To top it all off it was just before the Fairy Godmother came out to do her little show. She came over to our table and told everyone. It was great. Everything went smooth and they did a great job. We have some pics on our site.

Didn't get engaged at Disney, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Small bit of history, I have kind of a hobby of making short films, I've only made a few, but it's fun. The sort of trademark of mine is that my movies are essentially weird puppet shows with a plush doll of Cthulhu, a creature from a series of old horror novels that is part octopus, part dragon, weird fantasy creature. The first film I made featured this creature getting into a fight with my Stitch plush toy over a sandbox. It's all fairly silly.

So the day before my birthday last year, I took the day off. My fiancee thought it was just to have a day to myself for my birthday, but instead I got up, grabbed my camera and some props, and I went out and made a short film, in which this odd creature with tentacles and wings meets a squid and they fall in love. I ended the film with the creature getting down on one knee and offering a ring to the squid. I set this film to a Billy Joel song called "She's got a way", which my fiancee was playing in her car on our second date. I got the whole thing done and edited in a few hours.

So we went to a big meetup with a group of our friends, and showed them another of my shorts early in the night. I did this so I had an excuse to bring my projector equipment to keep her from being suspicious. :)

So at the end of the night, I told everyone I had a quick thing I wanted to show, and I turned on the film. I have it online but it won't let me post the link here, I guess. But the website is my my DISboards profile.

The second the music started, I could see in her face that she knew what was coming. She cried a little through the whole thing, and when it ended, one of our friends who had been right next to us turned and said "That was really great." I said "It's not over" and pulled the ring box out of my coat, got on one knee, and asked her to marry me. I had set a goal of doing it before my birthday hit, and I met it by about ten minutes, it was about 11:50 PM.

So it's not a Disney proposal, but it was fun. And in a week, we'll be arriving in Orlando for our honeymoon. It'll be our first real vacation together alone, and our first plane ride together.

My Fiancee took me to Disney. He took me over to Fort Wilderness. We were met by a horse and carriage when we got there. We went on a twenty minute ride, when we came to a stopping point over looking the water and Cinderella's Castle. The driver got out at presented me with a pillow made out of fresh carnations. On the pillow was a glass slipper and tiara. Casey put the tiara on my head, then got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him.

I got engaged last februrary in Disney World, and it was magical.

I go every year for my reading week (trans: canadian spring break) with my mom, kind of an annual mother daughter trip. Well going back to disney I wanted my BF to come too, because I have such great memories of us both working there in the summer 2006, its where we met. So I used the excuse to my mom, look how much money we would save if he came (he is a college rep so he gets the cast member discounts). So she was convinced, and we paid for his plane ticket. My reading week always seems to coincide with the week of my birthday so I always use the trip as a birthday gift too. So we get there Saturday, and everything is good. FDH shows me a jewelry box (ring sized) and says that one of my birthday gifts is in it, but he knows me and knows that I will wonder whats in a present but won't open it til its time, and my birthday wasn't til friday; so he placed the box on top of the armoir in the hotel room to taunt me. So tuesday morning, we get up, and before going into the park, FDH calls FMIL to just let her know everything is going good, and she asks in a very loud voice "did you give (my name) the ring yet?" And he flips on his mom "I wasn't gonna give it to her til her birthday! thanks mom!" So in an angry voice he was like "I guess you can have your gift now." I was freaking, so excited. I had not been expecting a ring til later in the spring. So he was like "here are your ear RINGs" I was like "oh, thanks honey, they are beautiful". I thought I had misheard his mom.

So we went through the week, Friday was my Birthday, the BIG day, we had it all planned, FDH and I were gonna run around in the morning and Mom was gonna pack and rest, and then we were gonna go to MK for dinner at Cinderella's royal Table and then the Pirate and Princess Party. pirate: We had pictures at Tower of Terror, and with Sorceror Mickey (FDH's fav character), and then met up with my Mom. Got all dressed for the P&P party. We got to MK at about 6, our reservations for CRT was for 6:30, so we had pictures done, and then headed over. Well it was planned so that we would be seated and be able to see wishes from our table, but people weren't leaving in time so we didn't get seated til 7:20. It was such a good meal. Then we went to the party. It was crazy fun, I loved all the pirates around. It was a good night, we watched the fireworks from right in front of the fireworks, I was taking some pictures and my FDH had his arms around me and I felt something hard in his pocket, and knew it wasn't his cell phone, but I wasn't too concerned cause I was enjoying to fireworks. So, Once Upon a Dream comes on, and he moves to my left side which I thought was weird and he got down on one knee and grabbed my hand. And my first response "Are you serious?" He had been telling me all week he wasn't gonna propose for a while. I said "Are you serious" 3 times. A french lady grabbed my camera and started taking pictures of me and him, so was my mom. He was like "so are you gonna give me an answer?" I guess I just assumed he would know I would say yes, and I said "OF COURSE" and then I kissed him. He put the ring on my finger and we enjoyed the rest of the fireworks. We then went and got the "Just married" pins that the cast members adjusted with a marker to say "Just Engaged to be Married" and then had a ton of pictures and got celebratory ice cream on main street. I was on :cloud9:

We are currently planning our Disney Fairytale Wedding, and the only issue right now is that we are still doing the long distance thing, he is in Nebraska and I am in Ontario. But in May we are both going back to Florida to get married and to start working for Disney again :thumbsup2
