Engagement Rings!!!!

I thought it would be fun to see how many different ring styles we all like and who is still waiting. I just picked out my ring last week and it will be sized by May 2. I have a size 4 finger so it is very rare that anything fits me. I chose a 2.25 princess cut with pear accents on each side. It is in white gold and is s very simple band. I wanted something different than my first ring, which was a yellow gold marquis with two princess cuts on each side of the wrap around. Since this band already comes with accent diamonds what do you guys suggest for a band? I don't want just a plain band but if I get one with diamonds I am afraid it will not look right when it is sautered together.

--Another question, are you guys having your rings sautered or just wearing both the e-ring and the band?? The only thing I don't like about having it sautered is that two weeks before the wedding I have to walk around with no e-ring while waiting for the jeweler to finish. I do like the fact that when he puts the ring on my finger it will be a surprise seeing how it looks together.

I didn't realise they sautered the rings together. Thats something I wouldn't have done. I have 2 totally different rings. E-ring is a very simple 1 ct princess set in a wide platinum band. The stone is set high. My wedding band was my Grandmothers who recently passed away. It's a gold anniversary band with 5 .30 ct diamonds and it's real nice. I like how the rings don't look perfect together.

My engagement ring is also 2.25 cts. and it is 3 princess cut diamonds with diamonds going 1/2 way around each side of the ring. i love it! i think he did great picking it out!

about the sautering... i havent decided yet what im going to do. i want 2 bands with diamonds going around the whole band, so i am thinking about not sautering so i can wear them seperate at times if id like... not sure what to do!

Both of your rings sound really beautiful. I was supposed to get my fi's mom's ring which is worth like thirty thousand dollars but his first wife lost the band that goes with it and anyway I would not want to wear any ring she wore. Of course it would have saved us a lot of money. I am going to end up paying for half the ring anyway because we put it on the credit card and once your married the bills are shared. I am not about to get a job either. I will work when I graduate college. Thanks for sharing girls

I have a .45 Square Carot Marque. And a simple wedding band with small diamonds half way around it. My rings are sautered together and I had this done about a week before wedding as someone told me once I was married I wouldn't want to take my rings off long enough to have them sautered. they are both white gold.

I have a .74 ct. Lucida ring from Tiffany & Co. I absolutly LOVE my ring. When FI and I were picking out rings, it was the ring that I kept coming back to, but I knew it was expensive, so I didnt want to tell him that it was the ring I really wanted. But he figured it out, and boy was I shocked when he gave it to me! My wedding band is a 1/4 ct. princess cut channel band from zales. Someday, (after we win the lottery!) I hope to get the Tiffany band that matches my ering. But for now, I'd rather have the money to go on a honeymoon!

My engagement ring is a 1 carat round diamond with a .40 carat blue saphire on each side set in platnum (hubby did real good, this is what I would have picked myself and we never looked at rings together before he proposed with it).

My wedding band is channel set round saphires and diamonds (alternating pattern), again in platnum.

I did solder my rings together, I had tried them on together before the wedding and I did not like the way the band twisted/spinned around freely. I did drop off both rings at the jewelers 2 weeks before the wedding and I did miss my ering then but it was great to get them both back at the wedding!

My engagement ring is a 2.07 round diamond from DH's family. I choose the setting after we were engaged (initially it was in a simple setting). I ended up deciding on a Jeff Cooper lattice style ring. It is platinum with an area in the middle that is sandblasted. My band matches and has 6 diamonds in it, evenly spaced around the band. Hopefully, I will eventually get the 18 diamond anniversary band that matches.

Mine is a platinum ring with 3/4 Total carats. The center is a 1/2 carat marquis with four small marquis surrounding it and two small round diamonds on the outer edge. I saw it and I said-THAT is the type of ring I want, but it is rather expensive. he said, "well, let's get it". I just about fell over. I absolutely love it though. The only problem with it is that I have to get a custom wedding band because it has a bit of a V shape to it and there are not any standard bands that fit with it. Who knows how much that will be!

My engagement ring is a 3/4 ct Princess cut in a yellow gold band and my wedding band is 1/2 ct of channel set princess cut diamonds in yello gold.

I did not get the bands soldered together, because I sleep with the wedding badn, but not the e-ring, because I am afraid I will cut myself in my sleep (as I already do when I am awake). I sleep with my face on my hands, so you can see why I am cautious.

Mine is 3/4 carat, colour D, emerald cut solitare with an emerald baguette either side. It's on a platinum band.

We didn't get the E-ring and band at the same time so the rings will not be flush but I have to say that recently I've been waking with marks on my face where I've been sleeping on my face so like Kristen I think that I will not be wearing my e-ring to bed much longer.

My band is also platinum and has 5 emerald cut baguettes in it LOL no idea of how many carat it has but it's really pretty and I cannot wait to wear it.

Thanks for responding everyone!!! Kristen, My fi's daughter is named Kristen and she is an angel. I know what you mean about cutting yourself with your ring. The marquis is a killer. I cannot tell you how many tines I cut me or someone else with that ring. That is why I chose a princess cut this time. I also wanted something totally different from my first ring. DW's total ct weight is about .84 I think with the big stone to be about .68 carats. It's a VVS2, in F/G color. Very good quality from what I'm told.

Mine's a lot smaller then most of yours, but it's perfect for me!! It's a .75 TW flawless and colorless past, present, future 3 stoned ring set in yellow gold. My wedding band has 5 diamonds and .5 TW.

I was wondering about something. I did not know you could wear an annerversiary band as an engagement ring, because I had actually chose one of those first because they are so beautiful and my fi said "No, you have to wait till one year from now and I am supposed to buy you another ring that costs twice as much as the first one." Did your fi say anything like that to indicate that we are not supposed to have that ring? I am just wondering because I already have one like that picked out.

Really, tho, you have to wear the ring the rest of your life. If you don't love the one he is thinking you should get, then think again about getting it. It likes buying a pair of shoes you know you don't like. Will you really wear them?

Hey, I'm sorry!! I did not mean to give the impression that I did not like the ring I chose. I love it, I am the one who picked it out. It is just that I am hearing of so many people with the three stome past, present, and future rings as e-rings and I did not know you could do that. I had thought about it while I was ring shopping and then James talked me out of it. I have NO problem waiting for our first ann. IRight now , we are lliving in an apartment and looking for a house, while at the same time he just got a promotion to a new office which is about an hour from where we live. Much stress right now. I am thinking of getting on Paxil again. Maybe I should just spend more time with Jesus!!!!LOL

Darian Dawn wear whatever ring you like! There are no rules you have to follow. I find your posts very annoying and you are extremely materialistic. Jesus doesn't like people like that. My e-ring is a trillion cut .47 diamond in white gold with three channel set diamond on each side. The wedding band is also white gold with six channel set diamonds.

Ok, I know this is so dumb, but we ordered my ring from a jeweler and I have already seen it but now it is back from getting sized and I am so stoked!!! It is soooooooooo gorgeous!!! The funny thing is, James has not even formally proposed to me yet!! ROFL!!! He wants to do a drawn out courtship and have some kind of party before he asks. He told me that when I think he is going to ask, that is when he will not. The other day we went to his friend Keith's house to get his vacum cleaner. We kept calling and calling to let them know we were on our way, because previously we told them around 4. Well, there was no answer and when we finally arrived there were around 20 cars and I spotted his Dad's Lincoln in the yard. I asked him what was going on and he acted really weird. Needless to say He did not propose!! We walked into his dad's crawfish boil. Too funny. AW, glad to have my ring back in the box hidden somewhere. Hehehe
